since location of people is quite hard for people to say. for example when player x finds a person to the right of them, but player y can't see them. i think that they should add a 360 degrees thing at the top of the screen like on PUBG because its hard for me and my friend and i'm sure others to communicate without this 360 degree angle thing. just an idea
Personally i also miss this. It would help a lot. Even if u needed to have a compass in your inv or something it would be worth
IF they add something like a compas, it should be a hand-held item!
Otherwise they also could also make a mini-map in the corner of your screen instead of "getting it" holding G
I have a mini-map on one of my servers because it's so big that getting the normal map gives a 5-10 second lag-spike that also trips out the player model for others, and it removes a big tactical aspect of the game.
It just feels better and realistic to have to grab it, than having magical flying selfie-sticks that holds your compas and map on the corners of your screen.
Rust already is a hard game to play, removing things that keep you bussy thinking tactical will make more players suffer than it does now.
Making basic aspects easier for everyone will make their way of playing and thinking "easyer" what will be your dead if your playing on high pop servers.
I kind of think it should be a mix between both of your ideas with the compas and that it should be like the old map how it had to be in your hot bar, but it being in your. hand would be too hard.

An in-game compass would be nice. We have magical, floating, auto-updating maps, so why not attach a compass to it?
With hand-held I mean it has to be in your hotbar or you have to open it like the map opens with G
With magical floating maps I mean the plugin that gives the mini-map. Things like that will remove some technical aspects of how you play rust. And these plugins also show the direction your watching, one of them also shows a compas (kinda)
Seems kinda pointless if maps are no longer an item. I agree, it'd be more "Realistic", but who wants to spare a slot for a compass?
just for others to know what he is saying"not bad. but this is direct copying. pubg" I do agree with this, but pubg doesnt require to have like a compass you spawn in with one.
well I since they removed the map the compass would be a great replacement
