• Lights and Roof Bunker house

So basically in this thread I want to address 2 of my main concerns that I've been fighting for quite some time and is making my play and experience a trash... First one would be the lightning I Know you guys have been fighting for quite some time to make the lights work properly in Rust but this is not even close to be done... (which u stated on your last update , that you have fixed the lightning issues)...And I will give u a simple example: Let's take the Power plant recycle that (the one from the building with crates and many floors). How is it possible that from the door (outside the room with the recycle) u see everything just perfect...and you go inside the room and it's pitch black....How in the world that makes any sense ? If you want it to be pitch black the effect should be kind of the way around...if you are outside you should see less than if you are inside...or if you really want it to be fair,,,make it black both from outside and the inside...but even so...the guy from inside should be seeing more than the guy from the outside for the simple reason the guy from the inside will always see the light coming through the door (in a normal world). And this happens with many other entities on all the map...is frustrating playing with these lights that doesn't make any freaking sense... Second thing I want to address is the Roof Bunker base : So this "bug" how I want to call it it's been in the game for quite a while already and nobody seems to do nothing about it... I am talking about the roof bug , the bug that when you place a roof twig near other roof part opens a hole for you in the wall... I don't know about you guys but for me it's a freaking pain in the ass...makes raiding a shitty experience when you find this roof stacking guys that uses this "bug" as a safe for their loot...having to use much more explosives than you would normally do... Most of the ppl nowadays are abusing this shit making their safe freaking armored...so you have to spend at least 8 C4 / 16 rockets....that assuming he only has 1 roof... Any chance for these things to be patch in the near future? Thank you
The lighting issue is the same as the old fog issue. Being in the fog you couldn't see, but being out of the fog you could easily see inside. Now instead of fog, it's darkness. Along with this, i think we should lock the max shadow lights to 1 so everyone sees shadows instead of having light bleed through objects. It only makes the game fair
ive been playing fro months and still have never seen anyone ver use the bunker
lmao do you live up the top of a mountain... those bases are everywhere lmao Also the lighting whilst annoying is realistic because your eyes adjust to the darker room
my buddy raided one last night, got mad loot. Not sure if he broke even on the GP used (was very close, guys had alot of sulfur/GP + rocket launcher) and like 2 boxes of t2 guns + 2 AKs. Was def worth the GP. Every base has a weak spot. The bunker's weak spot is that ppl think its "unraidable" and stuff it to the brim with good loot. Most youtube videos show how to fit around 10 large boxes into the roof/safe/bunker part of the base...so quiet good odds on gambling that you might cash out. Raiding is like poker you need to know the players before you raid ;)
Back to lighting, there is another pesky bug: fire on the inside of a stone wall (or better), and your location is given away by impossible reflections. Admittedly, it happens usually from kuite far only and usually when viewed from above.
Bunkers are still op, at the moment I have a starter base 3x3 with 4 bunkers in it. Which one is TC, do all of them have good loot in? Nope. Last wipe I had two massive ones and all around the high external walls with c4 + rockets scattered in them but never enough to profit off one.
is actually the other way around...when u are in darkness your eyes adapt to the light outside...when you are in darkness for a period of time u actually start seeing things more clearly...not when outside...the lightning code here is totally the opposite and it doesn't make any sense... I bet he did mate...but what makes you think if he didn't have the bunker he wouldn't have the same stuff inside? He would have the same freaking loot with or without bunker...the only difference is that you and your buddy wasted more rockets/c4 to get the loot...only because of that buggy roof...
