• We're getting a lot of Rust threads in this section

By "a lot" I mean 2 in the past week: I can´t connect to any server Steam auth These users are confused, I don't know how they got here exactly but I'm guessing that somewhere is a link to the main facepunch forum, where there should be a link to the Rust forum only. Because the games subforums are so far down from the forum homepage, I can't really blame these users for not finding the correct section.
Maybe we should ask them!
I'm pretty sure it's less that they're confused than they're not bothering to even look at what section they're posting in to begin with. Before theRust section was separated from the main site it was a huge issue there as well. And before Rust was a thing the same happened with Gmod threads, albeit on a less frequent basis.
People just think: "oh look it's the Facepunch forums, same picture as when I start my game. this must be where i should post about me getting banned for no reason at all!"
But that's exactly why the Rust forum, when accessed from the link I gave, doesn't reach here. Who gave them a link to the main forum? @Gamet can you tell us how you found this forum please?
We should do something about this! Lets ban the entire rust section and move it back to oldpunch!
Building a wall sounds good to me
People will post anywhere they think might get them better odds of someone noticing
true, ive seen people posting gmod lua questions in programming forums frequently
I just realized one possible source is email notifications. If a member who normally posts in the Rust forum gets replied to whole offline, they would get an email with a link to the forum.facepunch.com domain. From there it's just a few clicks away from getting lost. @garry , if you care
