Hi, guys. I'm from a relatively new community called goldsrc.net, and I'm here to let you know about these nifty weekly events we have where we play awesome Half-Life mods. We've got a huge list of mods to play, so, if you want to see something hosted, let us know.
This week on Saturday at 21:00 (9 PM) British time we'll be playing Science and Industry. It's an awesome mod that's been around for many years but, unfortunately, is pretty much dead these days. By setting up servers and hosting events we're hoping we can kick-start the community back into life or, at the very least, have some fun trying.

What is Science and Industry?
Science and Industry plays much like a typical CTF game, except there are no flags. Each team -- a company -- starts with an equal number of scientists. You must steal the opposing team's scientists and convert them into your own in order to speed up the rates in which upgrades for your team, such as new weapons, are produced. On top of this, having more scientists means your company gets more money. The team with the most amount of money after 30 minutes wins the game. Certain maps also allow you to destroy your enemy's technology or steal additional items for extra points.
Who hosts the VoIP/game servers?
We run our game servers on a rented dedicated server in the Netherlands.
We do our communications by Mumble, not just the in-game chat. You can join our Mumble server at mumble.goldsrc.net:64738.
Where can I get it?
We're hosting a mirror of the 1.1 installer on an Italian server, which you can grab from http://david.goldsrc.net/files/si11.exe. Alternatively, you can get the files from Mod DB.
As a Half-Life mod, you require a copy of Half-Life on Steam.

We had lot of fun with an average of 10 players last week, and we're hoping we can get even more people in this week. So, please, come and join our server!
Thanks for reading my thread.

I'll be sure to stick around in the Mumble server and perhaps play for a while.
I really like GoldSrc, if anybody reads this post. Be sure to join, we'd love to have some fun with you and maybe you can make it even more fun for us.
Be sure to say hello on the mumble or forums first.

Hi, I am one of the people who continue to support this mod and have been playing it for the past 10 years.
We still have a small community around and gather every Sunday at 9pm BST, I just saw you had a server up and googled and found this. If you would like to come on Sundays we usually play on the US server 184.154.164.92:27015 but if enough of us are EU and people are up for it we would consider helping fill your server. Will let the others know about the Saturday gathers as well so we can help you out and post events for Saturday at 9pm BST to get the community to join your server (if that's ok).
If anyone wants help with SI give me a shout, add me on Steam (goku_ssj_uk) or join the SI group for news/events - http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SImod/
Very pleased to see a new server pop up and our small community would love to play with you.
