It's not that hard, just follow the rules above, it's OK if you make mistakes, I'm not Ven Kaeo and I won't tear you a new one :v:
I would but I suck at these sort of things.
As long as you're not "That one nation," you'll do fine.
Sent you a PM.
I would love to join but I can't think of anything I would research or any economic developments. Are we allowed to not research anything, or have anything develop economically?
Also by diplomacy do you just mean anything politically like laws or does it have to be diplomatic situations with another country?

The espionage/internal affairs is how you deal with internal things, like new laws.
Economic development: I stress that you shouldn't go overboard, like creating a shit load of new oil fields, because your military production and general quality of life will suffer with so much money being diverted. With research, a lot of "cheap" research (if you can call it that) like new vehicle designs, won't over load your economy, compared to a lot of "expensive" research (atom splitting tech, MOAB stuff, etc.)

Start as an easy nation then, and you can learn the ropes (try Switzerland, Austria, Canada or something)

Research: Research has begun on 1 new project, power recycling. Power Recycling will be useful for later generations to come, with energy that has no purpose, "recycled" back into the system. The progress is at 15%.
Military: The JSDF has begun a more intense regime regarding the training of new troops, while there are less troops, morale of new troops is signifigantly higher, feeling a sense of honor and duty.
Diplomacy: Japan has sent an emissary to Seoul on various economic and military affairs. North Korea bravely calls Japan a "Whore of the West". The Japanese people are shocked.
Econoimcs: The Japanese government has taken no new steps to change its economy. Japanese investors are pleased with no government intervention in this fiscal quarter.
Internal Affairs: All is quite inside the Japanese Intelligence HQ.
Events: There have been no special events in Japan this quarter.
PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC
(Tark)
Research: Specialized Assault Elements and Small-Scale Military Element coordination begin. Both are research directly related to the organization of the military. The army, navy, and airforce are extremely pleased, but some citizens in Lisboa are disapointed at the lack of civilian research. The research is at 10%
Military: Fireteams are made into smaller groups than before. The re-organization leaves the Portugese military in a state of flux. The armored division elements are integrated into the Portuguese Infantry. This causes little disagreement in the military due to the few number of armored vehicles.
Diplomacy: Portugal prepares to exit the Schengen Area. The Portuguese populace is elated to see less foreign influence in the country, but there has been a massive stir in Brussels, who are currently threatning to revoke EU privleges from Portugal. Portugal also begins asking the US to withdraw from the Azores, the President is not pleased, but begins evacuating troops to Spain. Portugese aid is cut back slightly, and base payments stop coming.
Economic Development: Preparing for the Schengen withdrawl, the Portuguese government begins focusing on a more industrial economy, with attempts at more expensive tourism thrown in. Time will tell how long this takes.
Internal Affairs: Portuguese Intelligence and Police teams stay calm, but on alert.
Events: The EU protests Portuguese action. Germany asks Portugal for a mutual defense pact and alliance. The economy suffers.
FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY
(Kingdom Banned)
Research: Work has begun on improved tank armor and new mining technologies. The Germans invite Eurozone and American scientists in on the effort of new tank armor. 15% of the work is completed. New Mining Technologies include more eco-friendly ways of mining, whilst working quicker. 5% of the work is completed, but various obstruction from Conservative elements has slowed it down.
Military: Bundeswehr HQ is quiet. German soldiers are encouraged to take more breaks. The German lower echelons are happy, but the higher ranked soldiers are disapointed.
Diplomacy: Ambassadors in Portugal begin sending alliance feelers.
Economics: New "metal first" policy, as it has been dubbed, begins taking effect. Major Criminals (e.g. rapists/murders) must work in mines for their rehabilitation. Though no deaths have occured so far, a prisoner lost his foot when a coal mine collapsed ontop of him, causing social outcry about the treatment of prisoners.
Internal Affairs: German Intelligence HQ reports active activity, and successfully captures a Russian spy. Russia is embarrassed by the event.
Events: Minor social discord over prisoners. No economic impact.
SYRIAN ARAB REPUBLIC
(Vampiresrock)
Research: Surprisingly humanitarian medical research begins in Damascus. New advancements include work on cancer and blood disorders. The work is at 10%. Research is attempted on Alternative Energies and Military armaments, but it stalls out due to the uprising.
Military: The Republican Guard SMASHES down resistance in Damascus and Hama. Citizens are taken aback by the swiftness of the campaign. The death toll keeps rising, with the Arab League announcing they wish to begin a policy of "containment" against the Syrian Republic. Continued resistence is pushed north towards Turkey.
Diplomacy: Increased activity in various Embassies around the world. Purpose unclear.
Economic Development: Work begins on stabalizing the economy during the rebellion, the work's progress will be unclear until the next few quarters. Syrian Businesses encouraged to work with the government. Approval rating among business men rises slightly.
Espionage: The Leader's most trusted men are assigned to an intelligence agency strictly within the army. Many rebellious types are weeded out, either executed or those who escape attempt to defect to Lebanon, Turkey, or the rebels.
Events: The uprising continues.
REPUBLIC OF POLAND
(Heavyguy)
Research: Work begins on the brand new PL-1 Battle tank, based off of the Leopard II, the Nordics begin offers to buy it almost immediately, thanks to its rugged engine and tracks. It's at 20%. Work also begins on Solar Energy Plants. This drains heavily on the Polish economy, but if successful, could bring grand new power bonuses to Poland.
Military: The Military begins reshuffling. Most mechanized military regiments begin to entrench near Kaliningrad. Belarus takes warning to this and begins pushing troops to the Polish border.
Diplomacy: Poland asks Belarus for an alliance. Still feeling miffed over the friction involving the Orange Revolution of 2004, Belarus flatly refuses.
Economic Development: Funding for research increases. This slightly destabalizes the Polish economy, but German investments keep the economy running smoothly.
Internal Affairs: Poland legalizes Gay Marriage. The Poles that do support gay marriage freely hold a parade in downtown Warzawa. The 70% of Poles that don't on the other hand...
Events: Economic destabalization due to legalization of Gay Marriage and research. Investments by fellow Eurozone countries help strengthen economy to avoid downfall. Polish citizens concerned about the Belarussian armored division on their borders.
Well, that wraps up the first turn.
Good to know on my first move I immediately dicked myself economically :v:

Your economy is just in a rough patch, not completely fucked, I'd be more worried about Belarus than my economy personally.
