The donation system put in place offers a few perks that do NOT affect gameplay. You have the ability to ride mods and have more than one house in the main town. NOT A BIG DEAL. Any normal WHITELISTED member on this server can do everything that a donator can with the exception of riding mods and owning multiple houses. I'm sorry for the confusion. I should have explained better in my original post.

And yes, the server monitor does say 50 still for some strange reason. It originally was on a dual core pentium but since moving to a dual cpu quad core xenon we've bumped it up to 150. The main site runs on a pretty powerful PHP backend that I built though so it shouldn't be too hard expanding :D. I'm hoping tonight to get it to the point where people can apply through the website and get automatically accepted.

Takes the hassle out of editing config files for each new person and makes it nice and simple when mods/admins are busy with something else.

But you can /whitelist add *name* on bukkit and vanilla (I think)

Oh, we don't have that type of whitelist. Everyone can log on, only those on the "whitelist" though can build.

Buying donator costs 5 dollars- once. He still manages to run it. A server isn't a profit-turner, it's something that you have to maintain and put alot of time/effort/money into.

The others may have put it a bit harshly, but they are correct. No server starting up without backing will ever get beyond 50 members in the first few months, or need the hardware for the ability to keep 150 users and running smoothly. Putting in large amounts of time and/or money and expecting a return when it comes to hosting a server is crazy, to put it bluntly. You need to build up your community for quite some time, keep a little donation button in the corner, and offer every service you can for everyone. After a solid foundation is acquired should be the only time to even consider a donator's position, let alone a monthly fee. I wish ye the best of luck, but tread carefully.
