Aren't most of these "private" servers illegal/against EULA?
If not then I may give this a try.
2.4 Private Servers. You may not create, operate, participate in or use any unauthorized servers intended to emulate the Game.
Looks to me like it's against the EULA.

Where not connected to steam in anyway why you showing me the steam eula for the game.
If you read the top it is the EULA for FF XI.

Steam doesn't make the EULA for individual games, the publisher of the game wrote the agreement.
Private servers are against the EULA for FFXI.

Where a emulator, and yes i understand but Private servers are against the EULA for runescape, WoW, Aion etc.
I dont understand the point you are trying to make?

Well firstly it's against the EULA given that non-paying customers can play it makes it borderline piracy.
Secondly, those that do pay for the game are also breaking the EULA stating they may not participate in private servers which puts them at risk of being banned if found out.

If you care so much about it, don't play on the server. But before they will come after you for going against their EULA, they have to give a shit, spend the money to go after the ISP, wait for a response from them for information on who is hosting it, and then go after the hoster (provided the ISP gave them the info), drag out a huge lawsuit and a lot more... Now, by the time they get to the ISP actually giving them the host's information, the server will prolly be turned off, deleted and the hard drive burned with no credible evidence of it ever happening. So it's highly unlikely your dad will have to spank you due any law suit for breaking their EULA.
in the end: it's ok to play on the server...

Just because you're an "emulator" doesn't make you any different than WoW private servers.
If it isn't on the official servers for the game, it's a violation of the game's EULA. There's no arguing about this; it's fact.
Not seeing final fantasy XI in the drop down menu in check files when running the playonline viewer, just the viewer and tetra master.
Camping spook, you know how it is.
