The game Bioshock was a game created by 2k in 2007 was well fucking awsome in my opinion with a new and unusual setting the under water city of Atlantis...uh i mean Rapture created by Andrew Ryan an asshole who didnt like the bullshit in the world and decided to make a city underwater (HOLY FUCK) And it had a great story line cool action of beating up junkies with fucked up faces and thier wives. kind of like
NEW JERSY. It had so many plot twist it made Shutter Island to say :wtf:. and another faceless hero (no not the slender man) Jack a random guy tried to gtfo of rapture becuase it was bat shit crazy. oh and they're is :pedo: in it yeah. and it got GOTY in 2007
So the sequel Bioshock 2 Came out feburary 9 2010 and i got it the first day it came out and it took place 10 years after the first one and you were a big daddy that could use plasmids and trying to find your original little sister that you love :smug:. so its the same thing really just di8fferent weapons plot line and characters including enemies like the big sisters :krad2: and shit so the action was alot more fast pace and was supposed to be harder but ironicly it wasnt because not matter what they would do id just be like
:vd: why becuase you were a badass and it didnt have the same fell as the first one not as creepy and shit so i think the first one was better.
so what are your stupid opinions and shit
In terms of story the first was better, in terms of gameplay the second was better.

WATCH OUT FOR SPIOLERS guys.
Bioshock 1's atmosphere was awesome.
I'm a tool, apparently. Also, spiolers?
and shit
Okay ignoring the dumbshit OP and trying to stay on track here...I think each game has it's own sparkle. Bioshock 1 delivered a better atmosphere (Same city but different areas and effects) and a better story. Bioshock 2 however I found to be more fun gameplay wise. Story in 2 wasn't bad, infact, it was very good I think. If you look back on Bioshock 1 though, you see it shines out on that department. P.S Why is this in Let's Play?
Bioshock 1 definitely tried a lot harder to be creepy, but in Bioshock 2, I think it might have been a stylistic choice not to do so as much. You are a Big Daddy after all, the only things that genuinely pose a serious threat are other Daddies and Big Sisters.
I think the first game's story was much better subtext, the theme of choice having a constant role in the plot, but Bioshock 2 had a better overall emotional drive, at least if you wanted to be a good guy. It still carried choice options, and made those choices less black and white than the Sisters. The NPC's you kill or spare were appreciated, especially since there's more variety in the kind of ending you can get. Bioshock 2 also did a good job of coming full circle to Ryan's failure. When objectivism failed, Rapture turned to it's polar opposite, collectivism. Bioshock 2 displays both of these as being extremes, both requiring complete inhumanity to attain, Ryan's views being too selfish to work, and Lamb's views being SO about selflessness that she believes it better to be truly mindless. The moral as I see it, is that a working society of man must find a proper balance between upholding the good of the individual, and the good of the whole, without sacrificing either.
As to gameplay, while Bioshock 2 is much shorter, I'm on my third playthrough straight right now. Bioshock 1 was fun, but some of it got stale after a while, mostly for the stagnant parts of the story and the gameplay.
Bioshock 2 found some perfect improvement to gameplay. The change in the hacking system means less flow-breaking segments of worthless pipe nonsense, just succeed or fail at the hack in 20 seconds tops. Streamlined, enjoyable and fast. No more spending all your cash to buyout a turret, vending machine or safe because you can't be bothered to waste time hacking. And the camera, what an improvement. Instead of dodging enemy attack in order to snap photos, start rolling the film, and hit them in interesting ways for a higher score. Much more fun, far less of a chore. Love duel-wielding plasmids and weapons, much less clumsy. Weapon melee, huge plus. Can scarcely express how often in Bioshock 1 I offered my kingdom in order to shove them with the butt of my gun. Gene tonics combined into a single category, awesome. Plasmids with similar effects being combined into one with power up. Plasmids can charge for secondary effects. Big Daddy weaponry feels beastly.
Really, I love Bioshock 2, it's well-made and fun. Wish it were longer, could've done with more scares, story could have been less starightforward, but I think you're doing a good job if the main complaint of your game is that there isn't enough of it.
Sure, Bioshock 2 is more of the same, mostly, but that's because the game is set in Rapture, and there's not much to do in the world outside that. The underwater segments could have been more involving, perhaps, and I'd have appreciated being able to re-explore levels like in Bioshock 1, but all the same.
