Atomic Jellyfish was a combination of two very inactive communities and a merged community known as Double-Vision Gaming, Raging Raptors, and Perception Roleplay. It started from just two people who were working with Clockwork that has then grew greatly. The name Atomic Jellyfish is more of an inside joke that will stay that way. As a community we are not in it for the money and are to create servers with the styles that we have felt as roleplayers that seemed exciting for us. Yes, this has been said so many times by different people, but we hope that once you enter our server that you will be able to create your own experience that will help change the boring sentence that is overused many times.
[img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/General2.png[/img]
The server that Atomic Jellyfish is showcasing is Fallout 3. The staff at Atomic Jellyfish worked hard to find new innovative ways to create unique roleplay standards that will be explained more in detail below.
[img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Storyline1.png[/img]
Our story begins year 2256, fifteen years after the destruction of the Oil Rig in West America and twenty one years before Vault 101 opened. Brotherhood of Steel soldiers have set up a glorious Citadel in the Capital Wasteland fighting mutants, raiders, tribes, and of course the Enclave. As the Enclave moved East after their fail in the West they hoped to rebuild the Capital of America. As they landed in the area fighting quickly raged between the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave. War effected the land greatly as the two factions caused many problems between settling towns in the region. As our story begins in the heat of battle you come in. Will you aid the Brotherhood of Steel against the reign of the Enclave? Or will you enlist in the forces of the Enclave becoming one of the greatest soldiers the Wasteland has seen. Or perhaps you would like to become a mutant, a raider, a thug, or a neutral bystander. The choice is all yours...Welcome to Atomic Jellyfish.
[img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Factions3.png[/img]
Brotherhood of Steel:
The Brotherhood of Steel, mainly lead by Elder Lyons in the Capital Wasteland have begun to move there troops a bit north into the area. Armor has been created in an alarming rate as the T-45d power armor is starting to lose in durability due to the influx of Brotherhood of Steel soldiers. The quest for technology has become halted as the Enclave stand in the way between the everlasting truth. The Brotherhood of Steel has begun to withdrawal due to the Brotherhood of Steel Outcasts growing. As the war presses on, they find themselves stricken with many problems to be solved.
Enclave:
The year is 2256, 21 years before Vault 101 was touched. The Enclave mobilizes in force, spreading around the Capital Wasteland like ants on a lion. Legions of armoured soldiers march in formations across the wasteland, as they cleanse the area of any impurities, mutations, and generally...Most people. The Enclave, led by Colonel Sean 'Mace' Gregory, storms the northern area of DC's city ruins, as a small outpost is set up. It was fairly small, but a well defended fortress. It was named after a brave soldier that died defending the Colonel's life from a sniper shot, and had the honour of having 'Fort Jackson' named after him. The fortress itself is surrounded by a large boulders, concealing it's position, with automated sentry guns defending the fortress from intruders. The soldiers scatter around the fortress. The base consists of a barracks, mess hall, research lab, helipad, and the Command Center. The area itself is well far away from the settlement, named New Haven, that is consisted of small-time wastelanders, dedicated to defend their small town from intruders. But we all know, on their own they won't fight the Enclave. However, the Enclave forces mostly leave the local populace alone, unless they did something to anger them. The Enclave's goal in this region is to eliminate any hostile Brotherhood and mutations alike. They will stop
at nothing to achieve their goals.
(Custom Faction)New Haven:
After much success in the southern part of East America they decided to move north in search of expansion. This small militia started off from the ground up in an abandoned army base looking for new soldiers to join them. The response was huge as many willing wastelanders enlisted in this shanty army. As their job was finished the main leaders began to move north in search of another desperate and destroyed land. As they settled into an abaonded town the Enclave and Brotherhood of Steel made it clear to them that the town was the key to the region. New Haven quickly manufactured arms as they began create weapons for each other. Wastelanders found shelter in this town and joined a work force to help defend the town from both rival factions. It was clear that this militia would not give up the town and would stay neutral until provoked.
[img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Features1.png[/img]
Borderline Combat:
This is a rule involving certain combat situations on our server between factions - Situations were players might end up dead. It states that factions do NOT have to /me fights. In that scenario you will need two more conditions:
Every player that is involved in this fight must be ICly and OOCly aware of that they are in a life-threatening situation (They must be aware before the fight starts)
To simplify it as a whole without getting utterly confused by this concept:
Long range, /me and S2M
Medium range, /me and S2K
Close range, no /me and S2K
Creatures of the Wastes:
Creatures in the server are going to take a big effect as we have added a numerous amount of them. For this players who apply on the forums and are accepted by admins are able to choose a specific creature to roleplay as. We would like to keep this as strict as possible to avoid powergaming between creatures. (AKA deathclaws)
The list of creatures we currently have are:
-Feral Ghoul
-Regular Ghoul (With different clothing variations)
-Cazadore
-Deathclaw
-Deathclaw Alphamale
-Deathclaw Baby
-Deathclaw Mother
-Gecko
-Giant Rat
-Mirelurk
-Mantis
-Trog
-Alien (Events only)
-Albino Radscorpion
-Barkscorpion
-Bighonrer
-Bowfly
-Brahmin
-Centaur
-Coyote
-Dog (Healthy)
-Dog (Weak)
-Molerate
-Giant Ant
-Night Stalker
-Radroach
-Radscorpion
-Supermutant (With different armor variations)
-Supermutant Nightkin
Weapons:
Although, we didn't want weapons to be a main focus for players it is of course always needed. Regular wastelanders are most likely going to be recieving low tier weapons while faction characters will be able to purchase weapons of higher class.
Our weapon list currently are:
-Wood Axe
-Varmint Rifle
-Sniper Rifle
-Sledgehammer
-Snigle Shotgun
-Shovel
-Service Rifle
-Riot Shotgun

NEW NEWS:
Recently we have been working hard for a more professional avenue for our community, by doing this we are currently updating our ugly forums and are getting a new custom map. To do this we are overhauling donations and trying to get as many new members as possible.

may i ask what the fuck is different to the other hundreds of fallout rp servers hosted in the past
everything looks the same as kuroscript fallout with no new addons
Like I said were an IC different approach. Explained before, I explained different ways that we will be rp'ing like Borderline Combat. I think I forgot to mention jobs that we will be giving with different factions:
Crimson Caravan:
-Will be giving courier jobs to different players, made up players or people who actually ask for jobs.
-Factory system:
-Were planning on making a factory that will be making low-tier and medium-tier products of all sorts to the Wasteland giving wastelanders something to do then randomly scrapwhore and walk aimlessly into nothing. We already have a plan on how the factory will run as well.
Lets just say there are 4 machines and a table with many junk props. Each junk prop goes into a certain machine. The machine will be a salesman that sells and buys junk until the final machine gives an actual product in which the Crimson Caravan will use to sell.
New Haven:
Mostly when we get the custom map were going to make this town and militia the only way to go through the different half of the map. Like a toll fee. The only other alternative will be a subway system that will most likely be as dangerous as possible. Enclave and Brotherhood of Steel will be on seperate parts of the river and the only way to go through is to build their own bridge, which New Haven will probably shoot down or the subway.
We understand that it is very difficult to create a new present into roleplay as there are so many roleplay servers. Not to mention the ever used phrase "Unique HL2RP server" which is almost impossible due to the amount of servers. As an admin team we are working our hardest to give the best expierence if it is not unique and to always expierement new ideas and work off of failed ones to create a framework and a skeleton to a better roleplay expierence.
this sounds terribly boring and just as generic as clockwork
try harder please, maybe code something original and you'd get people
Were in the middle of making this into a more a Fallout 3 replica. Changing the main menu, and the GUI. Although we haven't really released this yet as were way into alpha on it. Like, we just got the main menu to look like the Fallout 3 main menu, but didn't release it to the server.
changing the derma doesn't make the seemingly half-assed generic schema any better.
Aah alright, thank you for the information.
What would you like to see then?
nothing, i'd like to see communities that revolve around generic schemas and terrible games shut down altogether.
edit:
omg dumb rating im going to go slit wrist
get something better to do
[QUOTE=hooghoog;41905891]nothing, i'd like to see communities that revolve around generic schemas and terrible games shut down altogether.[/QUOTE]
We got a badass overhere. I had fun on the server ill join later today again.
Your OP needs some work (the images make my eyes hurt) and there is too much text without any bbcode.
Other than that, I think this looks rather interesting.
Send me a PM on the forum or add me on steam if you need any help!
Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that, maybe you can make a seperate thread about your concern. If you truly do not like it, you do not have to tell me, thank you for caring enough to tell me though! This information will be passed along for feedback.

Thank you for the support! I am sad to say that we are a bit inactive now due to my short departure, but you haven't seen it yet when their is a full server on :D

Thank you for the feedback. And it would be great to have you along the community!
Btw what framework are u using?
[QUOTE=nickster50;41906256]Btw what framework are u using?[/QUOTE]
We are currently using the Clockwork:New Vegas schema. Although, we are not to happy about this because we really wanted to have our own custom one. But, rest assured were working our harest to make due with what we have.
Looks really nice.
I like these things putting out stuff in big pictures saying stuff like : Features, Factions, Storyline, same fucking thing all the time, boring and old.
there's another better fallout server coming out soon made by people much better at coding than you
a) stop trying and shut down
b) stop trying and merge with them
c) keep going and ultimately die after one month once you begin hosting this shit
[QUOTE=hooghoog;41917009]there's another better fallout server coming out soon made by people much better at coding than you

How was that helpful? And since when does coding matter that much? A server is as good as its players; not its code. Sure, good coding usually gets you more popularity and in that sense it can be "better", but it's not all that matters. You can have a great gamemode, but shitty players; hence rendering the code useless.
Even if it turns out to be a better server, why should that mean that he should not keep his server up? Not everyone does things perfectly from the start. We have to give every community a chance. It doesn't matter if they suck to begin with. Instead of bashing on them and writing shitposts to make them shut the communities down, we should be helping them out by giving them constructive criticism!
Who knows? Maybe one of the communities that you keep bashing will end up becoming a great one.
Option d) Get help from kind members of the community to help you improve. Take things step by step!
Pilot, I am here if you need any help!

I know of tons of kind, helpful and mature people on facepunch who can keep their cool and be constructive in their criticism. If they don't exist, then what am I?
They are just overshadowed by all the shitposters.

Stop acting like your a verteran on Facepunch and you know everything and all. If you really don't like this, why do you keep bumping it?
Secondly, I am starting to realize that this is all generic stuff...I spent like a few days just going through all these Clockwork servers and it's true actually, were just all the same. Johnny Guitar is going to explode with his server, and I don't have beef with you man, I treat you like a friend but it's true. If I were to make a succesful server I think I just need to take a different approach, and Clockwork is not on that list. I just need to figure out now, what it is and how I'm going to pursue it. As much as I think your conceited and selfish hooghoog your still right. I really support and thank the people who are giving me words of kindness from you guys but come on, I know I can do better then this :P
Just need to take:
The Johnny approach.
But yeah, I'll be moving along soon but I want to stick with FalloutRP, I just know too much about it for me to just scrap the whole thing and to be honest, I think the canon for it is to the point that I could write novels about the IC groups and the area. I have a helpful community to back me up and I know I can do something better then this.

It actually caught my attention when I saw "lua autorefresh while in server" But, enough documentation is on it to know what exactly I can do with it to the max.
I noticed a couple of things wrong with your canon.

You do realize that the Enclave didn't actually mobilize and move out of Raven Rock until after Vault 101 had opened and the Lone Wanderer had stepped out into the Capital Wasteland, right?

Why would the Crimson Caravan be in the Capital Wasteland? That doesn't make any sense. They are only prominent in the Core Region and the Mojave desert.
Other than that, the server looks pretty decent. It's nice to see a FORP server not based on NV for once.
*Can't quote that above*
Yeah, the whole 21 years thing kind of backfired on us when one of the members in our community also pointed that out, were kind of just re-evaluating, right now you just have to know it's before Vault 101 opened.
The Crimson Caravan is completley and 100% creative freedom choice. We did that because really, there is no trading company in the East and we wanted to bring someone that would be an elective. Some of us said that we should just have traders move around in a trading route with a brahmin or something (Brahmin would be another player.)

The thing is that if you set it before Vault 101 opened the Enclave won't have mobilized and left Raven Rock yet. Here's an old backstory I wrote for a FO3 RP server that never happened, feel free to use/modify it if you wish:
"In 2275, a previously unknown vault, Vault 115, opened in the outskirts of the capital wasteland. The vault inhabitants arose, only to be greeted by a harsh and lawless nuclear wasteland. Feral as well as sentinent mutants roamed the area, but they were not the only danger. Raiders, bandits, slavers as well as other scum also inhabited the area. In the middle of the chaos, there was an armed conflict raging between the so called Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave, which both had outposts established in this part of the capital wasteland.
The year is now 2277, and the vast wasteland awaits you. Through hardships and labor, you can make something out of yourself. Whether you choose to be good or evil, a part of a faction or not, this wasteland is now your home. Some will thrive, and some will perish, because war... War never changes."
The story is set in the outskirts of the Capital Wasteland, in an area which you never actually visited in FO3. This gives you a lot more freedom with the story and locations. It also takes place during the events of FO3, which allows for the Enclave to have mobilized but at the same time it doesn't actually conflict with the FO3 events since it's not in the same location.
Also, I'd recommend just getting rid of the Crimson Caravan since they don't exist in the Capital Wasteland. Just handle trading like trading was actually handled in Fallout 3, have traders travel around with a brahmin and body guards.

Oh my, that Vault 115 thing actually can fit to our custom map list.
One thought did cross someones mind that we should maybe do a 100% canon Fallout 3 like Johnny's Fallout:NV. But, is that a good idea?

Our's isn't 100% canon, more like 90% if anything. We're trying to get a good mix of wastelanders, factions, interactivity and creativity. Trying to make it fun for everyone is a hard thing to do.
Regardless, if you want to run a great community, you're going to need other people backing you up and helping you out (like how Jocken assisted you with a different canon). Good luck!
