• Facepunch | Dallas, TX | TF2 / CS:S servers!

I have a full machine that I use for my small Counter-Strike 1.6 community. That being said, I'd like to put the extra space on the box to good use. So I decided it would be best to donate a couple servers if not then as many as I can to Facepunch. I don't normally participate in posting, but I've been around long enough to know that I can commit to this. Under the hood Intel Xeon X3460 processor (four physical 2.80ghz cores on QPI + hyperthreading) 16 GB registered DDR3 memory 1000 GB, 7200 RPM SATA hard drive Located in Dallas, TX (InterNAP) General idea I want to make as many servers as I can dedicated to Facepunch. These servers won't be loaded with any bull shit such as extra models, sounds, or advertisements. I will try to keep them as simple and vanilla as possible. As always, all the custom servers will have fast downloads enabled, and HLStatsX or gameME will be enabled on select servers unless deemed unnecessary by the community. Where to start? So this is what I'm having trouble with. Since I'm not making the servers for my own benefit, I'd like a couple people to tell me what to make first? A TF2 server? CS:S server? What type of server? 24/7 Valve Maps, 24/7 Badwater? How are you paying for all this? At some point in time I will ask for donations not for my own personal benefit, but to pay for the box or even get another box just for these servers. So the real question is, how am I paying for this myself? I make enough money from my Counter-Strike 1.6 community to fund this entire box. And if necessary, I can get a couple donations from my dedicated members or even pay out of my own pocket. Admins I'll start having people contact me in regards to having admin in the server when the servers get put up. So let's begin!
