#!/BASH/SRP is a gamemode created for the sake of serious RP in the STALKER universe. It aims to implement all the features that are necessary for RP while also intertwining them with script mechanics that reflect those found in the actual STALKER game series, as well as others. With minimal GUI clunkiness, relatively short load times, and some convenient assistance utilities, BASH attempts to offer [B]you[/B] the best with little to no gimmicks.
The gamemode was inspired by HGN's and TnB's SRP, but is scripted privately from scratch. There may be public releases planned for the future, but development must come to an appropriate finish before that would ever happen. See a list of contributors below.

The canon for this particular server will pick up very early in the STALKER series, if you're familiar with it. The server launch will take place in a time period that predates the events that unfolded during the [I]Clear Sky[/I] chapter of the saga. Starting this early in the game's history allows for plenty of flexibility with developing our own story, which will rely heavily on the players and their interactions with one another, as well as those regarding important Zone events.
As the server is still pre-release, there are still some discrepancies to sort out in terms of player interaction with the canon. However, we plan to make it as [B]player-oriented[/B] as realistically possible. I, personally, usually ask other people about ideas and pitches that could possibly create some kind of unique atmosphere or experience for everyone. Aligning yourself strictly with what has already happened is like sitting down to watch a film after perusing summaries, reading a few published reviews, and drafting an intellectual article on it; it's fucking [B]boring[/B]. That's why we've gutted the 'vanilla' STALKER canon that most servers use, and are now presented with an empty framework to work with. Sure, it's not as easy as jumping right into the CoP storyline, but we want the players to be able to play with the story as much as we (as a staff) do. Which is what brings about the next point...
[B]Factions.[/B] Starting off with no factions would be nearly impossible. There needs to be some ambiance already present to provide an engaging environment, at least to start. There will be a few familiar faces: the [B]Ukrainian Military[/B] will be present, but not in the typical shoot-to-kill fashion. They will be working in conjunction with the [B]Ecologists[/B], their egg-headed brethren. [B]Monolith[/B] will be lurking... somewhere. Probably alongside some [B]Mutants[/B]. There may also be some other miscellaneous roles to fill, such as [B]Traders[/B] and [B]Technicians[/B] (not factions, just roles). [B]DUTY[/B] and [B]Freedom[/B] are in their infantile stages, with no support from the staff in terms of scripts. People can stay independent, of course. But making small player-based groups with some kind of mission or vision is encouraged, and they can get as large or small as they can handle. Factions can come and go from the story without us having to worry about it 'ruining the canon' because of their 'mandatory presence'.
This is still being pondered by the staff team. Whether or not it works remains to be seen. But, we feel it would be something new and engaging that would attract some kind of participation in the server.
