VR has finally launched to the masses, so why not launch a Minecraft VR server?
VR is [I]mandatory[/I] on this server. You will not get in unless you own a headset of your own. I might snoop around to check if you have one, I may not. This means you're not allowed to play on this server without using your headset.
To connect, you must install Minecrift. Links for that can be found below. If you've already installed Minecrift prior, make sure you have the 1.7.10 version installed.

its a downside and an upside in my eyes to restrict a server to VR. it makes the server stand out, but at the same time there's not gonna be a whole lot of people with the ability to even join. but that's not really a concern of mine, I just want to play with someone else / a group of people who also plays with VR

I'd play on this one because it sounds fun trying out Minecraft in VR. I don't play on the normal FP server.

I've been thinking about resetting the world as amplified is rather annoying to navigate I find. was thinking of installing RWG (realistic world gen) to the server, don't think the client needs it, and generate a world using that.
the latter makes me think about mods in general, like Biomes 'O Plenty. nothing that really adds blocks or machines, but stuff that adds biomes and stuff to explore using VR. would be somewhat more tedious to connect (more stuff to install), but I wouldn't be bothered personally. would this be a turn off or a welcome addition?

also, if we do end up going with mods then I'll have the ability to add a voice chat mod. I already have one in mind but it's impossible as of now being vanilla and all.
if we do go with mods, I'll package the stuff together and make the installation process as streamlined as humanely possible

have you tried looking around? the menu is behind your head, or at least it was in my case
I figured it out. Several VR programs were trying to take it over but it works now.
I wish the acid shader still worked, unless someone redid it for current MC

someone finally made a plugin to enable server teleportation for Vive users, woo! no more walking!
I'm also in the process of generating a new world using Realistic Terrain Generation. I noticed I wasn't actually able to put it on the server even though it's a serverside mod, the client also needs forge installed to begin with to connect. I'm just gonna pregenerate about 5000 blocks both ways and then put it on the server

new world is uuup! no more annoying amplified, but instead beautiful RTG. I've pregenerated about 4000 blocks in both axis' which means you should not go further than that, else chunks will become really weird as the default world gen will kick in. I've added a world border at 3900 blocks to prevent this. if the need should ever rise, I can generate even further out using my test server so just give me a call and it'll be done.
