Why wont photoshop open the VTF files?
You can get a plugin for photoshop to open VTF files, that is probably what you need

Ok if you know lots of stuff then tell me this? Where do i put my Knife skin in? I can't find anywhere to put it.
Knife skins go into materials/models/weapons/... then depending on whether you made a world or view model skin, v_knife or w_knife.

I used V_Knife. And i did that already but it doesn't show ingame.
Who the fuck is rating everyone with god damn hearts?
Anyways, if the plugin is not working for photoshop, then use vtf2tga to convert your texutres into a editable tga format
http://halflife2.filefront.com/file/VTF2TGA_Converter_Utility;35355
and use vtex to turn it back into a vtf.

Also, if you are not sure with the paths or you want to have access to all the textures of your source/valve games, then download gfcscape
http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=169
You can open all gfc you have in your steam folder and extract the models and textures.
ALSO here is another tip how to check your textures without swaping in-game all the time like an idiot.
Put the models and textures in your TF2 folder, then open over your source SDK the modelviewer with TF2 and open the model.
If you edit the vtf and you want to see how it looks it on the model in the modelviewer... just hit F5.
By that you can check the skin for errors in notime... it's better then doing the in-game stuff.
Ok i got my skin working ingame. Now all i need to do is find out how to show it in model viewer.
