"Hats being too common" - Games

Hey, I don't want to sound like an ass, but, do people really don't like hats but they do like the rarity of it?. I mean, come on, think about it, people DON'T like the hats because they are too common or just because they don't like the hat at all?. People need to be clear with those things, a hat rarity doesn't affect the fact if you like the hat or not. I've seen this many times, and, it really pisses me off to see these kind of stuff: "I don't want the hat because [b]it's too common[/b]." Common or not, it's a hat, you either like it or not. Exactly. I love the Napper's Respite despite everyone saying it's not rare or too common.

I gifted all my hats two days ago to some random guy on a server because I don't want hats. That's my right.

I don't trade the newer hats because they look pretty shit.

Hats in general are a lot more common, it's pretty unusual to see someone who doesn't have a hat.

The story of the Gibus, eh? I go for the looks rather than the rarity, too - except when I'm trading, then it's simply a matter of supply and demand and if Napper's Respite doesn't have high demand anymore, I can't change that. I think it's stupid to play with a hat just to make people jealous because of its rarity rather than being proud to have such a well-hatted character. Rare hats, even Unusuals, don't even make me jealous, but rather invoke a "Oh, that's a cool hat :D" response inside me. But hey, sooner or later hats will be common, no? New players and rotting accounts aside, with the trading system people most likely won't craft two hats together, except for the Hatless series maybe, so there will only be more and more hats in the future, right?

I am loving of my Merrywether and Milkman and I don't give a fuck HOW overused they are or are not because I like them for what they look like, not because they're super fucking ultra rare. Cool-looking, fitting hats > rare hats

People don't like common hats because they don't really give two shits about wether it's their favourite hat or not. Their quest isn't to get their favourite hats but to get all hats. To achieve that they must only get rare hats and then give them out for 3-4 not-so common hats. Then continue till they already have those and get others. Soon they'll have more than 20 hats and they just started out with 2-3 good ones. Honestly I don't give a fuck if they are rare or not I just want my favourite hats. That's the reason why I traded alot till I got a batters helm which I love no matter what. Too bad I can't get a Dapper Topper cause anyone I saw so far loved it and didn't want to trade it. I remember a few days ago a friend of mine wanted to trade his chieftain only for 3+ hats. Now I bet he'd trade it for 1 hat too because it's more common. People, are you really that retarded that you want people to get jealous? You should be ashamed if you do. tl;dr: Hats shouldn't be based by their rarity but how much you like them or not.

I only wear hats I like. Most of my classes are hatless even though I have plenty of hats.

I like to get rare hats for the same reason that I wouldn't mind to own a famous painting. Even if I think it looks like shit, I can get a lot of things hat aren't shit for it, from the people who don't think it looks like shit. Thinks being too common can make me like something a bit less though... it just feels a bit boring to wear something that everyone else is wearing, or that people mock you for wearing. I do make an exception for camera beard, it's still awesome no matter what people think.

Here I was thinking about how this would be a throwback to the day where only one or two people in a server would have a hat. I kinda miss those days. It seems people have this idea that they [b]have[/b] to wear hats. And those fucking medals. If they don't own a real hat, they'll use one of the give-away ones for all classes. I seriously give heavies who go in bald and bare-vested a huge priority in protecting.

I deleted all my hats.

I've downgraded a good amount of my hats to get the hat I like. I don't care about the rarity, I just choose the hat I love the best for that certain class and will trade whatever I have for it.
