Why? Has it messed up? I had 77% downloaded and then it said updating
It does that...
I unfortunately have no idea what, or how to, fix it; if it is a problem.
Close steam, delete clientregistry.blob.
Start steam.
Fixes most problems.

It does this to me all the time. All the stuff you downloaded is still there and you didn't lose any of the download progress.
Just don't try and play the game, it messes up the whole thing and you get some weird message that "Steam has noticed differences in files for the game" and you have to re-install all the data/updates etc.
Finished updating. Works.
What did you expect?
