Just to say, I don't give a shit if you use Source Recorder, Fraps, Game Recorder, whatever. To coin a phrase, I did it for the lulz. Enjoy, and yes I am late. Go ahead and clock me.

Nice
I feel the same way about FRAPS, though.
Hahaha very nice vocal editing.
The truth.
Nice cut and paste on the vocals. Also great lipsynching
Decent editing, sentence mixing could be better though.
But I don't see what a lot of people have against fraps? I can use it with only about 25% fps drop at max.
And Source Recorder takes about 4x as long just to render the video, and when it's done, the video itself is choppier than if i'd record it with fraps.
This video is original.
I like how he said "Fraps".

Thanks for the post. To be honest, I don't have anything against Fraps either. It's brilliant for on-the-fly recording, where you just have to hit one button and it's there, on your hard drive. Hell, I even use it every now and then, it's really really useful sometimes.
But overall, I believe that the Source Recorder is a better tool. Sorry, but there is nothing, and I say NOTHING, worse than a 1,000 barrel explosion in Gmod that someone's recorded using Fraps with a 5 year old computer.

Thank you! It's odd, it only took me 10 minutes to do the vocals, I had a good idea where I'd get the sounds from. Took me about 30 minutes to Photoshop everything into the scene, though.

"bomb cart is FRiend!" "how could this hAPpen?" "So much blood!" :flashfact:
Well made.
Man I gotta do something like this
Jesus, that vocal putting together stuff was freakin amazingly done
Genius
Actually I find Source Recorder results in laggy videos on my system.
So I use FRAPS.
I really would rather not.
The laggy videos are uncompressed AVIs that your computer has a hard time playing back due to the massive video bandwidth to play them. I'm not sure why you would use something worse.
Good idea, good gfx and its just cool :D

Ah, cheers mate! :D
I never did figure out how to convert the .dem files into real video files... :(
That had me laughing. Wow. Is it just me or are people getting better at this stuff (points also at Odd Scout and everything from Jimbomcb)
cool

Before playing back a demo, type startmovie moviename into console.
Then use Virtual dub to convert it to a usable format.
Alternatively, use startmovie moviename avi and get a codec pack.

I would recommend the latter, it just makes everything that little bit easier to import/edit.
Shame that none of my installed codecs show up in the list :geno:

I'm pretty sure this is the one I use, it's absolutely fantastic. Records at a fast speed, can record at any quality, and most importantly, actually works!

Ah, thanks mate! I'll be sure to check that out!
Thing that pisses me off is that my FFDshow codec used to work in L4D. Now it won't work in anything :(. Oh well, cheers!
Source recorder is good, but it's a lot of work just to make it into an AVI or WMV file.
Fraps does this while recording and is so much easier.

I don't understand how people can get confused by xvid, but whatever floats your boat.
I just record it as individual tga frames then compile them together in After Effects.
I like how he says SOURCE RECORDAH :buddy:

And again :P. "SO much blood!" "So much..." "You are gREat doctor!" "COme, knock me off it!" "DA."
