So.. umm.. Why did Valve take away the original backgrounds? - Games

What the fuck man, I really hate that shitty low res class picture. I miss the original ones... why did Valve do this?

Valve made a mistake (We all do every now and then) with the menu recreation. Simple as that.

At first I thought the new background was part of a film reel and that it would animate once it finished loading. :sigh:

They added the new one with the Engie update in honor of every class finally having their own update. Why they decided to stop using the originals is beyond me.

I miss my BLU background where the engi is wearing the Texas Ten Gallon.

With the new menu layout the old backgrounds didn't fit. So they stopped using them.

They looked bad with the new menu screen style, it's rather plain now though.

My main menu is back to the way it always was. No shitty Mac-update shit cluttering the page. Nothing at all, just the simple words that direct me where I need to go. No fucking ugly backgrounds- just the nice, clean backgrounds it always had. God bless the people that make these mods.

I quite like the new menu layout better than before. Although I'd rather have more than one background.

The only thing i don't like about the new menu is that the buttons are all over the place like a korean mmorpg i didn't even notice the background images

I don't care if someone plays with a MAC, as long as they're not talking about it like it's a big deal.

I just put map_background ctf_2fort in my autoexec. Problem solved. Doing that helps you get into a server faster too, cause all the resources will already be loaded.

The new backgrounds were small and ugly. The new menu was not intuitive. I am fluent in English and do not need ugly bright buttons telling me where to click. I can read perfectly legible English text. The old menu (and the one I have now, thanks to mods) is better, in my opinion. You may like the change, but change isn't good for everyone. You may like a bananary PC, I don't :)
