You ever get those guys who try to spawn camp?
Then you warn your team by saying "Hey, they're camping our spawn." Suddenly, the spawn campers erupt into flurries of "QQ NOOB" and what have you. Regardless if you respond or not, they start telling you how you're "raging" or "crying" at their "l33t sk1llz" even if they only managed to kill a single person before dying.
I seem to be getting those more and more often. You think they'd get kicked or banned more often, but they'd probably take it as some major griefer victory.
So what do you guys do when faced with a wannabe griefer?
To be clear: I'm not talking about spawn campers in particular, but really anyone who is really desperate to troll so they tell you that you're raging, even if you don't say anything.
Help him grief, griefing relieves stress and anger
I troll them harder.
Spawn camping isn't griefing.
Spawn camping isn't griefing.
Yeah, my point. They just think they're griefing and act like they're hella pro at it or something.
Personally I only call it griefing when it's fun for both parties. (for the most part)
Trolling is spawn camping.
It isn't grief it is WINNING AND FARMING
Spawn camping isn't griefing, it's just a stupid way to say "cutting off reinforcements"
it's a tactic, although it's really fucking dumb.
i don't like how valve made it esy to spawn camp too. those spawn doors are perfect for stickybomb traps since you can't see it coming until it's too late.
the best way to do it is let a teammate suicide in the doorway, then get a group of dudes to bumrush the demoman who's camping the door before he can lay another trap. i assume you're referring to demomen camping the spawn since all the other classes are easy to stop. if you can't stop a pyro from blocking your spawn door you deserve to be trapped inside.
there's also a way to block the door that leads to point B from the blu spawn in cp_steel. a lot of people enjoy doing that too.

Doesn't the name 'Griefing' tell you even a tiny bit what it's about.

Wait, how do I block that door? :D
There are enough shitheels doing it already, thinking they're hilarious as fuck. so you can go eat shit if you think i'm going to tell you.
I thought this topic was about griefers who simply don't know how to grief. Then again, you'll rarely meet someone who is incapable of even the most rudimentary tactics of griefing.
Speaking of which, I once ran into a terrible griefer. I was minding my own business, sniping, - albeit as a Demoman with a sniper rifle - when this chap comes up and asks me to stop. My conscience says ,"do it, stop," but his voice says, "mess with the little bastard." I ignore him and continue to snipe as a Demoman, at which point he attempts to grief me. He's running about as a Scout, darting back and forth across my scope, hoping to mess with my aim. I headshot two people in a period of 5 seconds as he's doing this. As I stop to thank him for blessing me with luck, and I find that he is now on the opposite corner of the roof, yelling that he can't find me. I proceed to laugh my ass off.
... Yeah, good times... :allears:
Anyhow, I've never met anyone who's met your description. I mean, if I'm spawn camping, I'll just periodically type "LOLOLOLOLOL", but that's it. Never been taunted while being camped.
Let's see...griefing, it doesn't necessarily that the person has to do any physical action against you, because if you respond to them, you're falling for the taunts. Best bet, if you feel like you're being verbally taunted, just ignore them, otherwise you're only going to fuel their cause even more so.
Use Teamspeak.
Problem solved.

Oh, and if he's a wannabe griefer like you say he is, I just go out there and kick his ass.

Wise words from SGTNAPALM. :ghost:
If there is only one, it's easy to use the dead ringer then fuck him over.
Equip Direct Hit.
+rocket speed and damage
Aim
Fire
Problem solved.
Jarate Sniper works well.
Equip jarate, throw it, run back in, switch to rifle/smg, attack.

hmmm
Well, you're at the respawn so just quickly change to SMG. When Jarate wears off, just switch back to Jarate.

Or switch to smg before attacking with jarate so you don't waste time changing loadout after jarating.
I hate the fail spawn campers that can't even kill someone before getting owned by a heavy. They always go like "OMG WTF" or "WTF HAX"
On some maps you can just switch classes a few times until it sends you to the other spawn area (some maps have more than one spawn area like 2fort), and then get them from behind or etc.

Jarate would also help your teammates. And with the quickswitch it takes no time at all.
If you just SMG them, you would be better off as Heavy.

Yeah, but I'm talking about the people who are so desperate to troll you that by saying "Pyro at spawn," you have proven yourself effectively mega-griefed, they spend the next 15 minutes making fun of you for raging, whether you ever respond or not.
In other words, you are whining about people saying that you are whining.
Looks like at the end of the day, their method worked.

You're basically saying how you got trolled by the "plan B" of all trolling/griefing techniques: Calling them out on their "rage"

Aha, here's one now. Apparently I'm "whining" by asking people to share their experiences. That's what he's telling me, so it must be true, right?
You're basically saying how you got trolled by the "plan B" of all trolling/griefing techniques: Calling them out on their "rage"
If you're a terrible griefer, that's pretty much your plan A.
Also, "terrible griefer" means they're terrible at griefing. You can't troll anyone when you're that obvious. It's just being a pathetic whore for attention.
They aren't terrible griefers simply based on the fact that they griefed you enough to make this horrible thread.
