It's a pretty amazing thing Jimbo's been working on, which is still heavily WIP, but it enables someone to spectate a game of TF2 from any given server on your browser!
It's shows an overhead view of all players upon the battlefield, and currently which team. Class isn't differentiated just yet. Height is shown by the size of the player's icon. Also implemented is a playback speed, and rewind function, which is awesome. If you tab away, the game pauses and resumes when you tab back.
It's somewhat iffy on Firefox, you need to enable Websockets.
Jimbo's been updating it daily, and talking about it on his Twitter account.
interesting. I could picture having this on a 2nd monitor, using it to cheat and find spys ect. Just saying it could be abused like that.
This is really cool, but I could also see it being abused easily.
Perhaps things could be implemented to counteract abuse.
Perhaps diguised Spies will show up as their respective class, and cloaked Spy not at all.
This certainly sounds interesting.
What about sentry nests, ambushes, and set up? Those will all be exploited.
If you want to oggle at yourself moving around.

When it's finished, I want it as a screensaver.
It turns out Spies outright don't appear on the Spectate.

I never bothered implementing error messages describing if you had a browser that doesn't support it yet because i didn't expect this to have a thread etc, it's wip. you need firefox with websockets manually enabled, chrome or safari. maybe opera i don't know.
wow that's pretty cool.
It's funny how there's always 1 or 2 Red people getting lost going right at the beginning... imagine if the map was cp_steel :V
Just add a 30 second delay to counter cheating.

What I meant was that I tried it in both Firefox and internet explorer. Same thing in both.
And Chrome? As you put it, Bahahaha.

Its efficient.
That's really cool, does it go by X,Y,Z coords then scale it to the map picture?
Its efficient.
I detest.

We should be able to know what map it is on... I mostly play on turbine, doublecross, badwater, and goldrush, sometimes 2fort. So I don't really know all the maps.
We should have a download link.
The map changed to pl_upward.
It's broken now.
