I just got a new computer yesterday, and I've been trieing to make it run at at least 40 FPS. I've tried using fps configs and everything. Can someone please tell me if there's anyway I can get better FPS?
Specs:
2.20 Ghz
3 Gbs RAM
Windows 7 64-bit
NVIDIA Geforce 7050
Those specs seem extremely random. Is it a laptop by any chance? Also, 2,20 GHz what? Is it Intel, AMD, is it a dual core, single core, quad core etc
Intel Celeron 2.20 Ghz
Its a desktop.

Its single core.
Yikes, quite the bottleneck then.
Yeah, I'm thinking about getting a new processor but I have no idea how to pick.
Go with Intel Centrino 2.1 or above GHz Dual
Works great for me, even on a laptop with shitty gfx card.
Try m0re's config
Did you reinstall TF2 from scratch or copy-pasta? I've seen a lot of duplicates of this thread before and the solution to all of them was either complete reinstall (if you copy-pasta'd it) or update your graphics driver. (Not card, mind you.)

I too sometimes have fps problems. By complete reinstall, do you mean right click on the game in my games list, delete local content, then re-download? Or something else?

m0re's config helped tremendously. I'm gonna update my gpu's driver and see if that helps even more.
