Any of the sites that have instant backpack data refreshing have an edge over tf2items.com. On the other hand, tf2items does provide more useful information about weapons and has an archive of crafting recipes. My favorite is tf2b.
Inzuki's one is dumb as a butt, but I like his drawing of the Skullcutter. His FaN is backwards as fuck.

TF2 items is still good but if it used the fixed bucket icons it would be better, I just prefer the two pages over one big one.

I like tf2items for the logging system and where you can access trading, crafting, and your own backpack with a click. However TF2B has a great item viewer. If you could incorporate tf2item's crafting recipies along with a trading matcher then it would totally replace everything tf2items has to offer.
I could incorporate Trading to be a lot better than Drunken_F00l's. And the crafting recipes is easy no doubt.
And yes, my icons are pretty shit. But iRunner is trying to talk GastricTank into making the icons.

why doesnt it even follow up with a tf2 style at all, everything is blue gradient + pixel art
