Points of interest:
- The "Pro-Beta" has died off because of the Engineer update, TF2 team trying to fire it back up
- Pyro and Heavy have been gradually tweaked to increase their skill depth and comp use, pace has been slow because of work on Engineer update
- Most complaints about Heavy about Natasha, Natasha will be tweaked, Robin thinks changes to Heavy are not enough for comp teams to adopt the class
- Robin wants people to use Wrangler in comp play for feedback
- Trading will arrive in next major update

DAMN SPUF

Dammit Robin stop listening to those competitive crybabies
5. Seriously: How much longer till HL2:ep3!
I chuckled on this.
Oh jeez, so the biggest focus on balance is competitive players. I'm not taking a full liking to that but I guess it's better than everyone complaining about a weapon simply because it's a bit annoying and sending it through a buff/nerf loop until it's done right.
I think the problem isn't with Natascha itself but the fact that Heavy got 2 overall minigun buffs rather than just one and both of those stacked with Natascha's super grip.

Im so fucking pissed at those competitive players. :argh:
The reason comp players don't use the Wrangler (if engie at all, but assume this is Highlander or something) is because you're way to easy to take down for spies. Kill the engineer and you have 5 seconds to sap the sentry.
Damn it Robin, stop paying attention to those competitive players :frown:

No, that's not it. It's that they find it difficult to properly counter and they believe that a Spy won't work to stop the Engineer since the team will kill him.

You have no idea...
He says he will add more skill depth, which is good.

Someone read the article.
[sp]/sarcasm[/sp]
Remember in my thread when you people said that if something happened to Natascha in the next few months you would blame me?
Well here I am.
I honestly must question Robin's idea of "skill depth". Speeding up the Heavy doesn't add skill, it just makes the Heavy more useful. He's still a hold cursor over target and M1 class for the most part.
Why the hell does robin even listen to the competetive fagholes, there are more "normal" players than competetive. Isn't the buffs and nerfs to please the biggest part of the community instead of a minority?

So angry. I'd say the competitive scene is bigger then the amount of fussy pubbers who whine about it.

I think it's foolish either way. The majority doesn't know what they need most of the time and the competitive minority plays in a very particular way. Neither should be taken into account with balance IMO since both have a skewed view of how the game works.
Competitive Beta I find is a good idea, taking skilled players and putting them in a playstyle they aren't fully accustomed with and giving them new toys to play with can really help determine balance. However, adding new stuff and judging off of their 6v6 based opinions is a horrible idea.
Let's see if the next changes make the game horribad and then complain, hm? Maybe the game will still be fun to play with the next tweaks, so we don't lose our fun, and it'll hopefully silence some whiners.
What is pro-beta anyway?

Yea. Something I thought of though is since the Heavy is pretty powerful right now from his buffs, some would say OP even, is that maybe one of the buffs should be taken away, but that would just cause rage.
Then I thought it could be augumented to the attributes of the miniguns. Like the Minigun keeps the faster movement while revved but spins up and spins down slower while Natascha does the opposite. Keeping both buffs leaves the Heavy as a beast. Taking both buffs away leaves him weak and slow. And this is just my idea based off an honest opinon.
[sp]*waits for boxes and people flaming about how my opinion is wrong*[/sp]

I like how elitist you guys are, people who get all sweaty faced and strained when they play a game are NOT better than people who just want to have a good time with friends.
Trading you say? :swoon:
What is pro-beta anyway?
Pro-beta is a Beta test where they basically take a bunch of high ranked competitive players and put them in several different game environments to test new weapons and weapon changes. It may sound bad at first, but it's not like a 6v6 or anything, these are normal games put under various conditions. They don't just play 1 round and have the players say whether they think something is OP/UP.
I like how everyone's ignoring the fact that the Wrangler and Natascha are genuinely broken because HURR DURR COMPETITIVE PLAYERS RUINING THE GAME.

I don't even think we've had the Wrangler long enough to say much on it. The only problem I see with it is other Engineers fixing the sentry up as the Wrangler is used.
Natascha I believe isn't the problem. I believe it's because the Heavy got 2 buffs with his natascha buff.
Wouldn't it be better if it was casual players for testing? Competetive players wants something nerfed if it does damage.

In b4 they nerf Sacha because it can kill players more easily than with Natascha.
Someone should e-mail to Robin.
Nobody. Gives. A. Fuck. About. Competitive. Players.

Says all you guys who call all competitive players 'compfags'
Am I the only one still pissed off at the fact that the Pyro seems a bit too damn powerful, especially after the recent buffs (more burning time, backburner deals more damage and shit)?
