• How to do the "Rocket Waltz" Theme song
    61 replies, posted
Anyone can play the Rocket Waltz theme from Team Fortress 2, but I have never seen anyone put it to piece of paper, even though a lot of people have requested for it on the internet. So I have dedicated my time into writing it together and even try to help people understand the basic notes behind the song. Note: Please be aware that I have tried to piece together the sheet music as accurately as i can since the only source is the sound file itself, I was only going by ear. I am not the best music writer out there, infact, I took my time into learning notation just to produce this so it would be wise just to use these as a basic guideline and work off your own creativity in the process. The basic notes behind the song are quite easy. I can explain the lower half/bass quite easily and it goes along just four scales in a loop fashion. The scales are Eminor, Gmajor, Aminor and B major. In order of the song, it simply goes, “E,G,E, G, A, G, A, B” and repeat/loops twice until the last bar of the song. If you look at this diagram, it should help you understand the four notes and what scale they are in (Anyone who is musically talented knows they can always try experimenting with different scales). If anyone wants to know, the tempo in the original sound file is around 110. This is my own kind of arrangement of the "Rocket Waltz" on an electric piano through a VST in FL Studio to basically show you how it can sound if done properly. I cleaned it up to give you an idea. If anyone still is having trouble with this, i can always upload myself a key pressing tutorial but you should have the jist of it by now. Someone wanna get it for the Sax? That'd be awesome.
Clarinet please?
Pretty good, seeing as how I don't play any instruments :<
Clarinet please?
Hell yeah. I haven't played the Clarinet ever since I was in 5th grade though :v:
Clarinet would be much more recognizable, and rather simple by the sound of it. With the clarinet piece, I could play it on my main instrument, trombone, after some tweaking.
Instructions for keybored please.
Instructions for keybored please.
That is the piano score sheet so why would you need a separate one for keyboard? They're both the same.
Might you find something in F?
That is the piano score sheet so why would you need a separate one for keyboard? They're both the same.
I'm too lazy to write down the notes, you should know this from the internet.
I'm too lazy to write down the notes, you should know this from the internet.
And why would I care if you don't want to write the notes or not?
Nice man, this will have to do until the Offical sheets come out.
Does it come in Cello?
I should send this to my brother, he likes playing video game music on his piano.
If you could do a Bass version that'd be amazing. [editline]10:00PM[/editline] No one wants bass, :sigh:
And why would I care if you don't want to write the notes or not?
you don't get it, he didn't say keyboard. he said Keybored, which is a program for the computer. stop acting like an asshole, you aren't even the OP.
printing this for piano recital at school, hopefully i can learn it by then
A trumpet version would be awesome
Somebody get the Clarinet or Sax notes for this(Clarinet's notes are technically the same as Sax notes, my friend plays clarinet so he can just tell me the notes and i can play it on my sax)
Jokes on you, a guy from Valve said recently they're going to release sheet music soon. [editline]04:12AM[/editline]
So I have dedicated my time into writing it together and even try to help people understand the basic notes behind the song.
You wasted your time hahahaha
Nice man, this will have to do until the Offical sheets come out.
You jackass. [editline]12:21AM[/editline] We already established this, READ MAN READ.
Found a few tweaks i need to do in the sheet music but can't access my Finale program for some reason but i'll fix that tomorrow. You could do clarinet and trumpet i guess.
Care to share the FL Studio file? :)
Guitar tab please. :D
Does it come in Cello?
All you need to do is take the treble clef notes and transcribe them two notes higher and you have the note it would be in bass clef. [editline]04:12AM[/editline] You wasted your time hahahaha
Also, it seemed to be a good learning experience for him. He did say it helped him better understand notation. I would say this thing is far from a waste of time.
I'd play it on the french horn if I knew how. Doubt anyone would be able to transfer it though.
Some guitar tab would be welcome if anyone had the time to produce it. I currently can't read music notation but I plan on teaching myself in the future.

Edit: Found alternate mirrors.
Soooooo playing this on the guitar. Can you export the notes in midi or something that will import into GP5? I mean I could do it by ear but it'll take more time then.
