Name your file spy_uncloak.wav and insert it in
team fortress 2\tf\sound\player
This is only for the regular cloak or the cloak and dagger.
The Dead Ringer's sound is a separate file and I never bothered to find out where it is.
i have one that plays the megaman 2 health fill-up sound
i want to delete it but i'm too lazy :downs:
dead ringer is spy_uncloak_feigndeath. I wanted to test it out so I made this:

It turns out that the sound volume is controlled in game, so even if you had a clipping sound file it wouldn't be that loud. when they nerfed the loudness, they actually modified the game code to make the played sound quieter, no matter what. Still, if you have trouble noticing the dead ringer sound like me, you could replace the file with something else.
Whenever my Spy cloaks, he says "This will be the last time you see me."
And when he unclocks, he says "Sorry to pop in unannounced."

Same here. Does he chuckle whenever he feigns death?

I have "I am invisible man" notes going up for cloacking. Down for uncloacking.
"I say yeah, yeah, yeah - I am the invisible man" - for DR uncloacking.
Too bad they are so loud, I go insane, when a friendly spy play around with cloack.
Argh you cheap-asses are ruining my spy gameplay! Whenever someone gets me because they were alerted by their custom sound, I rage like crazy.

Yea, alot of people do but I have around 180 hours as Spy or so and honest to god, it's a pretty safe move to uncloak behind someone. I'd say only around one in ten times do they actually turn around because they heard you.

I'd like a link to this, please.

The most they're gonna think when they hear their screeching warble of a decloak sound is "Oh shi-" before they get stabbed

Thanks
I noticed in the GCF's you can't move files and replace them.
So how do I use an alternative?
The sound folder for "player" isn't in the TF2 folder.

You make the player folder inside the sound folder yourself.

Make sound modding easier by extracting all the TF2 sounds from the GCF into your TF2 folder so you can just replace them straight away and always know they're in the right place.

Didn't think that worked.
