We really have no excuse for this. Despite years of experience in making multiplayer games, we at Valve still can’t instantaneously quantum-link every player to their TF2 server. People with pings as low as 500 have found that sometimes - inexplicably - the events don’t match the images on their screen (when their mighty 486 even manages to render them). To end this problem we’ve narrowed the range of angles at which backstabbing will work.
This is what we designed the backstab range to be:

Spies are now recommended to contact an air traffic controller to guide their approach run down the 1° backstab-path. For ease of use, you should clearly warn your target that you are a spy and about to stab them, and ask them to hold still if that’s acceptable. We estimate that this should reduce the volume of facestabbing complaints by almost 5%. If that’s not enough we’ll delete the knife entirely (which may reduce facestab complaints by as much as 10%.)
Also: because it’s the most balanced and certainly-NOT-specific-mechanic-breaking item we’ve ever made, everyone gets a Razorback!

I would figure that they put something about how you can run around a corner and get sniped through the wall, another product of ping conflict. The update would ensure that no player within a certain distance of any wall or wall-like object is vulnerable to sniper bullets.
Actually, i play heavy and spy, and the fact that someone can kill you in one shot from across the map is ridiculous, spy is okay since he actually gets in danger and has to be sneaky, it's fun to play spy, but it aint with sniper, i just find it ridiculous, snipers have no team purpose other than fragging, exeptions to jarate.

It's your job as a spy to backstab him while he's vulnerable at not paying attention to his own surroundings.

i like to Sticky-jump as a pyro, using the enemy team's stickies.
Also, w+m1 is not a good, neither the most used tactic by Pyros. It takes skill to be a pyro in arena, or anytime you want to keep your ratio over 1. Sure, W+M1 suicidal idiots are, well, idiots, but that doesnt mean EVErY PYRO has to be like that.
Ambush on the corners, use CompBlast, take alternative routes, circle strafe...
I hate it when a few people complain about something in a game, with a huge majority disagreeing, and then the game company decides to listen to the retarded idea.
Ex: Berserker class' chainsaw and katana reduced to [i]shit[/i] status because a few people were complaining that it's overpowered... in a co-op game.
people need to learn to just stop complaining
