• My speculation on future crafting.(Long but neat)

We all know valve is very good at keeping secrets and letting little things slide to get us all pumped and become theorists to tf2 unlocks and updates as well. Well as most of you know of the Fire retardant suit for spy.*was a beta idea but you can still find it* Gold, Silver, Copper tokens. Also valve said, maybe make one of your weapons stronger. Personally i say, Save all your refined metals until the engie patch. Hey who knows youll most likely get a hat during that waiting time. Maybe its the one you wanted to craft. Its really a gamble on that side, or a choice if you wanna craft. I say wait. What if they make it so you can add a small amount of little teeny tiny(yet helpful) upgrades to your Base weapons.(which they kind of hinted) Heres a list of what i think might eventually happen these are just examples. There will be attributes, only to be applied to the main non achievement weapons. aka bat or knife. The attributes would be random on creation. always 1 pro and 1 con. Who knows it could turn out to be a great combo or something awful like **Upgraded Bat +15 hp -15hp.** thats something like a waste. Heres more of something good combo. **Upgraded Bat PRO: Slow target on hit 1-2 seconds. Con: Delay swing(fire,hit etc) .5-1 second. **Upgraded Knife** Good upgrade Pros:Speed increase 5-10% Cons:Health reduced 10hp Bad Upgrade. **Upgraded Knife** Pros: Increase uber on hit Cons:Health reduced 10hp Now theres also the talk of Gold,silver, and copper. Heres how i think it will work. Copper= 1 scrap 1 reclaimed 1 refined+anytoken= Copper Token Silver= 2 scrap 2 Reclaimed 2 Refined+any token= Silver Token Gold= 4 Scrap 2 Reclaimed 3 Refined+any token= Gold Token Example to make the item. To make the Normal Knife. Refined Metalx2+spy token+meele token=Spy Knife Then. Refined Metalx5+Copper+knife=Upgrade Knife(1 Pro 1 Con) Make the Silver Knife. Refined Metalx3+Silver+spy token+meele token=Silver Spy Knife Metalx5+knife=Upgrade Silver Knife(2 Pro 2-3 Con)(for balance issues) The Golden Knife Refined Metalx5+Gold+spy token+meele token=Golden Spy Knife Metalx5+knife=Upgrade Golden Knife(2 Pro 1 Con+Sparkles much like the community weapons but gold colored instead of white) Examples of Silver/Golden weapons.(im gonna use the knife a lot) **Silver Knife** Pros:+15 hp, +10% damage Cons: -5% speed, 20% slower fire rate Level:30 always. **Golden Knife** Pros are better than normal cons are less. Pros:+25 hp 15% Movement increase Cons: 30% damage reduce(this doesn't include backstab. Effect: It sparkles with sheer will power. Level:50 always. Yes thats a lot of refined metal right there. Maybe it will cost more or less or be different. The reason i speculate it costing so much is because, that is pretty crazy having a upgraded base weapon and shouldn't be something so simple and fast to get because its such an amazing replacement. so far [url]http://www.tf2items.com/id/df[/url] has the right idea. How attributes will work. It will be on a dice system(like mostly anything random is) and there will be a list of attribute that can be applied to weapons BUT some are for others and some are not. Example. A spy knife wouldn't get Increased Uber on hit even though i used that as an example before. There will be a set list with attributes that can apply to all weapons, then ones that are and are not allowed for certain weapons to reduce OPness. Example. Rocket launches wont get 50% increased damage or any increased damage for them because there already so strong. OR crit after kill. They would however get faster fire speed/reload speed. I think we can expect to see more of something like this along with the engineer update, because hey, the engie crafts things so it seems it would be something valve would do. Please tell me what you think about this and dont post that its to long.

Yeah thats why im saving all my metal till then. I could honestly care less about hats.
I was thinking about something like that. At this moment, the craft system is really useless, I mean for weapons, who is really using the craft to make dropables weapons ? I think Valve should add new weapons, with their pro/cons, weapons that will be only craftable.
I wouldn't mind silver weapons, but gold is lame.

If you have seen community weapons it would have that effect but yellow sparkles instead of white.

Even though its been about 3 months now it still feels like it would be too soon if we got an update within the week, IMO. I feel like the longer we wait on updates, the better, larger and more refined they are. (excluding the distance between the Heavy update and the Scout update.)

Man do yout hink refined metal grows on trees? You wan't like 4 scrap, 2..second ones and 3 refined for a token, that still needs two more refined, and for what? a minor stat change? I'll take my hats good sir.

I don't know about you, but I think it'd be GOOD to craft hats before the community hats are in, as the Valve hats will become even more precious, since there'll be so relatively few of them.
Something tells me that Valve is gonna delay the Engie update with another Classless update. I personally don't mind because: A. A shitload more hats to be able to find is always nice. B. They need the extra time to come up with something good thats not too overpowered.

Ok, well, I think 3 refined metals is a shitload, cut that amount by about half.
