Many items in TF2 do not have an optimized versions, meaning that even at far distances TF2 has to load thousands of polygons at any given time, one of the biggest cases of this is the Lubricus Lid which has ~4.6K polys. Being one of the people who have older PC's I tend to struggle running the game, usually having to resort to Dx8.1 and lowest settings. Hopefully if we can spread the word about this effort to bring LOD to tf2, we can help those with weaker PCs, and in general have TF2 run smoother for everyone. If you only play on small enclosed maps like, say 2Fort or something, you wouldn't really need this, as most of the time you don't see others players, thus they wouldn't be rendered. Although it would be great if you played Dustbowl alot. Keep up the good work.
I always play this shit maxed out graphix. But the low-poly items look hilarious! Keep it up I guess.
