Is there anyway to fix the soldier finishing cock of the shotgun's lack of sound. And yes I know it's been there since the start of the game. Yes this is probably dumb. Feel free to show me with boxes.
I think Valve completely screwed over the coding for that.
=Yes this is probably dumb. Feel free to show me with boxes.
This isn't dumb. It isn't strange to want to fix something that is bugged, no matter how small it is. Knowing that it is there bugs me too.
Tried it already. Fixed the animations after decompiling and added the sound. But valve uses a weird system for the soldiers shotgun there are holster and unholster animations both with 2 frames in the position before pumping and after the reload. I ignored them, and the animations were all fucked up in the game. I fixed those unholster and holster anims and compiled it again, it was less fucked up but some stuff was still wrong.
Wait, what?
Did you add custom animations?
Valve's lazy ass is too heavy to fix it.
We need an EXPERIENCED modder to fix this,
BUT WHO?
:iiam:

Daimao.

I'm sorry of this sounds uninformed, but could that break custom models if Valve did an official fix?

If it's a script, no.
A model yes.
I have a little fix for the TF2 shotgun, but it's for the worldmodel and fixes using the wrong texture. You can find it at http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=97305

Yes because a Garry's mod texture fix is a TF2 sound fix
Gentlemen. BEHOLD!

A fix for the shotgun reload sound.
Tested and completely working. The sound clips a little with the pyro, but it's fine for the engineer.
Test it out and tell me what you think.
I can't say I've noticed this before.
Now damn you to hell, goddammit.

Same thing happened to me. You cannot unhear.
You cannot not unhear.
Thankfully, I fixed it in the above post. I'd like feedback on that.
I'll start TF2 right now, see what it sounds like without it, then add it and see what it sounds like with it.

Well... it's a shotgun reloading sound that I'm probably not going to care too much about when fighting.
It'll do.

I didn't notice anything wrong with the pyro, thanks for the fix!
And don't mention how exactly the sound clips with the pyro, or else I won't be able to unhear it.
A glitch that's really been bothering me is usually when a pistol gets down to 0 shots left and you reload, start shooting again, it only shoots 1 bullet before you need to start reloading again. :\
What is that and why does it belong in a SHOTGUN fix thread?
What is that and why does it belong in a SHOTGUN fix thread?
Slightly off topic but still a glitch that I didn't feel like making a thread about.

Only you(and a selected few) are getting that
I guess I could do this by editing some script files. I'll have a look into it.
[editline]06:09PM[/editline]
I'm sorry, but I just had a look into the script files and I'd have to add complete new lines and stuff, this would take some time and ATM, I can't be bothered to make this and I can't remember all important things I'd have to add, but I'll have another look into it soon.
I want my pyro to actually put things in the shotty when he reloads. :saddowns:
Aaaand someone stole my fix and put it on fpsbanana. Typical.

Report them. Duh.
Aw, I wanted to report them too.
Stuff like this annoys me also. I hate how the reload animations for the scout's pistol and medi-gun end too early, for example.
