I love TF2 so much that I actually did a project for my wood shop class. I did this on a 12x5 piece of wood, front and back. Tell me what you guys think. By the way, I know it looks like the characters don't have faces, but trust me they do. It's just that I took these pictures with a camera phone so the quality isn't that good and the faces are really small, so sorry about that. And another thing is, I tried to put as much detail into it as I could, so it would look nice. So as you maybe able to see I made some parts deeper than others. You can really tell what I'm talking about on the back where it says my name, but not so much on the team picture, because I didn't want to screw it up. Front side team picture (The little black dot parts on it is part of the wood I couldn't take it out without messing up the picture, so I left it.) Front side team picture (Somewhat Zoomed) Back side KalebFTW TF2 font Oh, and by the way I got an A w00t!
Just a laser cutter and some wood. You did nothing, the laser did it all.
Good job, Kaleb. That's pretty cool.
I expected wooden dolls and figures. I was dissapoint.
Just a laser cutter and some wood. You did nothing, the laser did it all.
I made it didn't I?
Just a laser cutter and some wood. You did nothing, the laser did it all.
I'd like to see you try it. Do you know how hard it is to cut wood with a laser?
I expected wooden dolls and figures. I was dissapoint.
Sorry, didn't get that into it.
Just a laser cutter and some wood. You did nothing, the laser did it all.
So by your logic Michelangelo didn't create David, the chisel did.
I'd like to see you try it. Do you know how hard it is to cut wood with a laser?
You have to know how to work the laser, it isn't to hard, but it definitely takes practice. It was a bitch trying to get the picture right though, I'll tell you that much.
Looks interesting. Not bad.
Good job, Kaleb. That's pretty cool.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
Just a laser cutter and some wood. You did nothing, the laser did it all.
Haha losser you've never used a laser to wood have you
I have another one I did with a actually drill, but it's just my name and I kind of messed up. I would go take a picture of it real quick, but it's to small and not worthy. Oh, and another thing I'm going to sound like a huge TF2 nerd, but I also used the same laser to make a TF2 puzzle, haha. It's pretty neat looking. I'll take some pictures of it if I get any requests.
Put wood in the laser cutter machine, press print on the computer, tada!
Put wood in the laser cutter machine, press print on the computer, tada!
Nope, good try though
We are talking about the same thing right?
Yeah, but we don't have one that advanced. And you have to make the picture how deep you want it, how big the hair line is, what parts of the picture you want to cut out ... ect [editline]08:47PM[/editline] I mean it's fairly easy, but you don't just throw the wood in the laser and press print.
awesome! nice work, i'd love to learn to cut with a lazer. i'd put my name on all kinds of wood things... cupboards... desks... pencils... floors... perhaps shoes too, especially wooden shoes
How would you put a cupboard, desk or floor into a laser cutter?
How would you put a cupboard, desk or floor into a laser cutter?
take cuboard, unscrew door. put door in laser cutter take desk. unscrew part you want to laser on. put in laser cutter you must be an engineering pro.
Pretty rad, but why didn't you use the more recent group picture? I like how the black dot is in Scout's crotch, though.
Pretty rad, but why didn't you use the more recent group picture? I like how the black dot is in Scout's crotch, though.
Thanks, and I don't know, I just felt using the nice classic one.
Very nice work!
It's like making a cake with a photo on it. Looks too machine-made. (except the name, it's great)
So, how did the laser work? Did you scan the image into the machine or did you have to make a custom screen for it?
I was expecting weapons made out of wood like the engie wrench. But it's still cool.
Pretty good, but I think you should have done this one instead:
Why would you make a school project of game characters
Why would you make a school project of game characters
Why the hell wouldn't YOU? Looks awesome mate.
