So i get around 30fps with everything on high/veryhigh (At 1680x1050) and only have one thing set in launch options (-32bit) so what would be a good way to get great fps, but still great graphics?

I usually turn off HDR, as my fps increases by 20 on an 8500 GT lol
TF2 doesn't have 64 bit mode, does it?
Windowed mode. You can hardly notice the difference, + 15-30 more fps.
windowed is actually worse for certain reasons, and that article you posted shadow, makes little to no difference i have tried using dx 8 81 85 87 88 and 91 but none made it look very good

Turn down your resolution, it doesn't need to be that high. If you've got anti-aliasing on, 1440x900 will look just like 1680x1050 in fullscreen.
You have to pick one or the other, you can't have the best graphics AND the best framerates unless you buy a higher end system.

I have no idea, but make sure you know what you're saying. Those optimizations work. And you can't make the game look beautiful and STILL expect higher frames. It's a trade off.
Damn, people get all pissy when they have like, 30 fps? 30 fps is very smooth for me, I don't know why everyone else has a problem with it.
Damn, people get all pissy when they have like, 30 fps? 30 fps is very smooth for me, I don't know why everyone else has a problem with it.
I was the same way until I got a new computer. Now it has to be like 60fps or it annoies me :\
Damn, people get all pissy when they have like, 30 fps? 30 fps is very smooth for me, I don't know why everyone else has a problem with it.
Remember, if two people click at the same time, the one with the higher fps shoots first due to less delay.
Remember, if two people click at the same time, the one with the higher fps shoots first due to less delay.
O.o whaa..? The one with LOWER PING not higher fps, FPS doesn't do a shit for gameplay (oh well unless it's a huge lag) and IMO 30 fps is the highest you would need (i've finished Stalker with 6-12 fps.)
TF2 doesn't have 64 bit mode, does it?
Apparently HL2 and HL2:LC have 64bit modes, don't know about TF2 though
Yeah, thought so. -32bit in the launch options is pointless.
Remember, if two people click at the same time, the one with the higher fps shoots first due to less delay.
This is wrong. FPS is just how quickly frames are rendered on the machine and has no effect on the speed of the online connection. Ping is what decides that. 30 FPS is just fine if you get used to it. 60 FPS is always ideal, though, because it's a lot smoother and it's easier to perceive what's going on (at least for me it is).
