Alright, what the hell valve? My 'signed' items aren't 'signed' anymore...

Signing a item is when you get a creator to giftwrap you a item. For example, my team captain was 'Gifted From: Daimao'. My beak was 'Gifted From: Pie Tony' , and my grimm hatte was gifted by 'Communist Cupcake'.

I had 14~ items signed by famous people or creators. I know a guy who has almost every community item signed by the respectful creator. Me and him are furious. He was gonna sell his set for charity. I just liked to collect them.

The recent update removed gift text on these items. So now my signed by creator weapon is just a normal weapon.... Its really pissing me off. I understand people hated gift text, and valve removed it. Why not just make it removable by 'restore'? This is really pissing me off. My whole collection, valueless. How can I get valve to fix this or whatever?

Sorry if this thread was unneeded, I haven't posted a thread on facepunch since earlier this year. I thought this needed pointed out, I loved my fetti bonk boy signed by the creator. Now its clean, and its misc and shit. I could trade it for loads of profit, but I really wanna just keep it. :/

Whats worse, is I've seen emails saying they were gonna do something special with signed by creator items. Valve just removed the gift text all around, making me furious. As a collector of them, it just pisses me off.

The taunts that were gifted (traded ofc, but had to be gifted) are also tradeable.

They reset gifted items it seems. Summer sets that were traded using gift wrap now have no gift text.

Might've just been an error with the item server/API; they did bring it down for maintenance for a few minutes, and everything's been pretty smooth since it came back up.
