I just bought tf2 cause it was 50% off on sale, so i figured, you know why not? right? So i have 8GB availible and just want to know how much it NEEDS to install and play, thanks.

just install it, and before you install it, look at the size.

I think the .gcf files total 7.02GB or more (including shared engine files).
Add another 100MB or so for the local content in steamapps\<username>\team fortress 2\
