How does it pan out? How many slots get wasted by rocket launcher-less Sollyknights? Is it worth giving up the Grenade Launcher to get a constant supply of minicrit stickies? if soldier got the chargin targe, it would still have 65% blast resist.
Soldier would probably get a shield as a secondary, not a rocket launcher
Give the Soldier a fire hose rocket launcher, a riot shield, and a baton. Give the Demoman no weapons.

And, while we are at that, Valve treats the Sticky Launcher and Medigun as the Primary weapons of their class. Also: Both classes get to use all 3 pairs of shoes.

Everything would be different, because the TF2 team would make the Sticky launcher a secondary weapon and the Shotgun a primary weapon.
Now I'm picturing a scout with the charging targe.
Now I'd like to see the Demoman with a bagpipe (someone more than likely already made one for him)

I would not mind some sort of playing with weapons in the Beta of this sort. I mean, why is the Sniper's Shahanshah just a simplified Equalizer without the speed increase? Why can't I be a ninja-quick melee Sniper? It's like they intentionally gimped him. I've heard it thrown around (and I completely agree) that a shield pack for the Pyro would be a godsend - it helps with mobility (but takes away your ranged weapon), it allows you to get close faster (Pyro's most effective range), it soaks up damage (something the Pyro already does to a point anyway).
Scenario: Remove class restrictions from weapons but allow only one class.

I think you could easily take most of the melee weapons' stats and bring them to new classes. Why does Scout get all the wonky melees? I want mini-crit-setting fists, damnit!
