Do you ever feel like me when you're not idling you not getting stuff that other people are. For example: you just went out to be with your friends for a couple of hours and you left your computer on, but you didn't put yourself in an idle server. I know it sounds wired but i just wanted to know that i am not the only one feeling this way. please i do not want replys like it's wrong to idle becuase i do not care about that.
I rarley get drops when playing, but I get tons of drops when im idling.
Idle overnight, good chance that way.
Just started idling last night, woke up to about 6 or 7 new items, all dupes. Got the chocolate bar while actually playing in the idle server, though.
I think i know what you mean, when i sleep and i'm not idling i feel like i'm wasting an opportunity to come back to my computer like "lets see what we have received this morning"

You know what, i wish tf2 would run in the background every time i turn on my computer, you know, with no page in the taskbar, and a little icon next to your clock, when you doubleclick the icon, and textmode and sourcetools pops up. then i could close it and it would go back into hiding, then ill check up on it every week or so, and i will be happy. /Idea
And you will also never play Team Fortress 2 again, apparently.
No, only when I'm not playing GMod or Tomb Raider or other games.

Put in this in start options: -textmode -novid -nosound -nopreload and theres no screen or anything, but you'll have to remove them to get it back to normal which isn't much of trouble but it gets the deal done

Yeah, I'm addicted to idling.
My friend got TF2 recently, He got 3 hats from idling under a week. Brainslug and Beanie Just goes to show you new players have a raised hat drop rate.
I think what I find most annoying that I don't idle and I get one or two items a week. A dupe, a hat, a misc item - a week, if I am lucky. And more often than not, it would just be a dupe. And then I keep seeing people saying that they get 6 items overnight while idling. Where is the justice?
Also during weekends I idle overnight with like 2-3 items, on weekdays I get about 8.

Also, it seems people without any form of metal in their backpack get more drops.
I just have a shortcut on the desktop called "TF2 IDLE" which just has all the launch commands in it.
The justice is you get hats. Also, it seems people without any form of metal in their backpack get more drops.
Uh... and so do they. Idlers have 7 to 8 times more chances, actually.
Uh... and so do they. Idlers have 7 to 8 times more chances, actually.
I'm an idler and i'd love to get a hat a week, yet I very rarely get drops at all.
I get jack shit
My drop rate is very low during normal play but when I idle I find lots of stuff. E.G. I have found 14 till now only 2 were found during normal play.
i left my comp at 9pm and came back at 4am with 1600+ deaths and about 5 drops [editline]08:57PM[/editline] yet a random half hour earlier on i got like 7 drops
whats weird is that i get almost nothing while idling without touching my computer 5 minutes after i come back and play i get the chocolate bar and the pain train. i was in shock.
I idle 20 hours I get 12 items. I'm pretty happy with the drop system.
Idling is stupid. Give me boxes.
Rated apple.
I've played the game since it came out and have yet to get a hat (-I have been able to keep).
I got two hats in like 2 hours of idling
Only hats here are Miner's and Gibus. Miner's was from two Beards. I've idled for so long and NOTHING. Only good item whilest idling was getting a second Cam Beard
