• Is the revolver dispersion bugged?

Spy has been really frustrating to play nowadays compared to last time, maybe it's just me or it's just that players have gotten better at countering spy,i dunno. Anyways on to the main point,I was playing on ctf_2fort in the BLU sewers when i encountered a enemy pyro with a backburner,i backpedaled and dish out a few shots with my revolver, strangely though, none of them hit the pyro even when he wasn't even moving side to side or jumping,he was just running straight at me and holding down the M1 Button,i died and i decided to check if i was lagging or not and my connection was actually stable,I even remembered that i fired two more shots at point blank just a second before i died, another story, this time i was playing in doublecross below the bridge when i saw a enemy spy on the other side,i took out my Ambassador and fired a whole clip at him,the first shot actually hit him but the rest missed even though he was at point blank with his knife out,he got managed to get a facestab before I could finish reloading my Ambassador and i was pissed, this happened to me about 3-5 times and it was after the recent update,do i just have bad luck or is the revolver dispersion bugged?
Please separate this in paragraphs, it's an eyesore. Anyway, here's a tip : Don't go full-auto : If you wait 1-1.25 seconds between each revolver shot or wait for the ambassador to cool down, your shot will have perfect accuracy. Same applies to the pistol and the SMG

I hate this so much, but i take NitronikALT advice.
Test it on idle and moving bots. Probably unrelated, I can't hit shit with the Enforcer, but I have 100% accuracy with the vanilla revolver. go figure.
I think most hitscan weapons, I know this as a fact for the pistol, have perfect aim on their first shot. I think it's a carry-over from Counter-Strike where people wanted to have a guaranteed ambush headshot. Anyway, if this also holds true for the revolver and time is in your favor, reload after each shot. But generally I'd just say you got bad luck, I doubt Valve changed the spread recently.

I remember getting plinked to death in Balloon Race by my friends. And similarly plinking them to death.
I'm imagining a bunch of revolver spies shooting eachother saying "Plink!" down the mic each time they shoot.
Actually we were using shotguns and miniguns. Nothing like 3 damage every few seconds at a distance greater than the area between the spawns in Gold Rush's first map.
All the spyvolvers have a very small spread, so really, unless your target is past close-medium range, just go full auto. :V
This even applies to the shotgun if I'm not totally wrong, one pellet will always go in the middle if you wait 1,25s between shots
It does it on all hitscan weapons, even the miniguns. One shot will always land dead centre after the delay, it's just more extreme with the miniguns and shotguns are they fire multiple shots per round.
The funny thing is, I must aim differently with each revolver. Ambassador - Aim at or away from the enemy, I still don't hit. Revolver - Aim at the enemy, get consecutive hits all the time. Enforcer - Aim next to the enemy, get consecutive hits all the time. No idea why, just that when I shoot past the pyro, like a few inches off his arm or head it decides to curve into his head as a protest for my "shit aim."
Revolver spread seems to be more like a shotgun. Seriously, how can any gun be that bad?
Revolver spread seems to be more like a shotgun. Seriously, how can any gun be that bad?
It's not meant to be reliable, it's an emergency weapon for when you mess up and get discovered.
Revolver spread seems to be more like a shotgun. It balances it out to stop Spies from going commando and fighting other classes head-on.

I agree that the revolvers shouldn't be super-powerful, but even their concept is pretty weak. One-shot hitscan weapons? Sounds like a hard to aim and hard to use weapon to me. None of the other hitscan weapons in the game are like it except for the rifles, and they have perfect aim.
I haven't noticed any spread problems with the revolver.
Yeah, the hit detection is awful. Sometimes I hit them from far away, sometimes I miss at point blank. I remember being super frustrated when i first started out. Niktronik is right, don't spam, wait 1 sec between shots and if u need, download tr_walkway and train on the bots.
I haven't noticed any spread problems with the revolver.
It's most noticeable with the stock revolver when you try to fire at a W+M1 Pyro since you need to put out those shots quickly
