• Extreme loss in FPS

Hello again, recently in Team Fortress 2 I've been having extreme FPS issues among other things. The first thing I notice when i start any game on Steam, is the audio and other functions being slow unreliable and skipping. My FPS goes up and down from 60 to 11 rapidly and even at its highest the game skips and is unplayable. I have been unable to connect to servers, and my ping is sky rocketing for no apparent reason. I ask you to present possible solutions to this problem, as you have done before for me. I have tried reinstalling and even putting the details the lowest they can possibly go, nothing seems to work. Thanks in advance. P.S This only seems to happen with Steam games.
Well, open up the Task manager and try and see if any processes arerunning unusually high. Reset your router, make sure all ethernet cables are plugged in securely, and try a virus scan. You can also try defragging your TF2 game files. There's always the possibility that one of your computer components could be dying, and this is its way of showing you.

Note: Classless update has optimisation issues...
Note: Classless update has optimisation issues...
It broke every game in Steam for me. Even the singleplayer ones.
Alright, whatever defragging did it worked, thanks. New problem: In some mods and some games, i get this error on startup. "The MSS DLL file is installed in the windows or windows system directory - It must be installed in the application directory."
Help. Anybody?
