I never found out what the new gamemode was, what is it anyway?
Well, thanks for rating me dumb. I missed out on the blog and everything, y'know.
I didn't even know there was one.
dueling shit
dueling
Everyone thought it was dueling, but that's a minigame.
The new gamemode is not yet released.
Oh, I wouldn't really consider dueling a gamemode... but oh well.
It's yet to be announced/released in the next update. It is NOT dueling. That's a minigame, not a gamemode.
Wrong.

PC Gamer: What was the game mode that didn’t make it in, and why was it dropped?
Robin Walker: The new game mode didn’t make it in because we simply ran out of time to get it done. So it’ll be in the next major update, which isn’t too far away. The game mode itself is pretty much done, but we’re still working on the new map that features it (although it will work in existing maps). The sixth Polycount set I mentioned last time we talked is also being held back, because it’s tied to the new game mode.
disregard that
What polycount pack is it that's related to a new gamemode?
:byodood:
New game mode is Cooking Papa, starring Heavy Cooking Guy.
Oh wow, if only that were true.
That might actually work, what with Demoman and Soldier's frying pan.
I sooo hope it's something like Hunters from Tribes 2. (Enemies drop flags, players pick up flags, players deliver flags to home base, flags are dispensed to yield points for the team, team wins when they've collected enough flags. Basically a fusion of Deathmatch and CTF)
I think I used that idea as the basis of the Dogtags gamemode I made up once. Here's a little link to the idea in a bit more detail. (It also contains ideas for a "Boss Fight" mode)

They didn't finish it in time. It's coming out with the next major update - Halloween?
next major update - Halloween?
Wonder if we're getting a Ghastly Gibus type hat.
There IS the scout hero mask and it is very likely to be associated with the new gamemode along with other content still in the GCF.
Frankengear set + Frankenstein boss battle during the Halloween update.
Frankenstein Boss Battle, you say? Well, I guess I know where we'll all be on All Hallow's Eve.

I'm just speculating unfortunately.

That will explode if someone shoots it
VIP. Fingers crossed.
Perhaps Halloween is the day that the Civilian shall truly rise from his grave?
(although it will work in existing maps)
hmmm, sounds like VIP or deathmatch or similar.
Trade Fortress.
There are ingredients scattered all around the map. You gotta find all of them in order to make the perfect sandwhich. Once the sandwhich is finished, a Heavy must consume it in order to become Cooking Papa. His new minigun will then shoot 200 crits and the first team to reach 25 kills with Cooking Papa crits wins

That would be amazing.
But I do wonder if the scout mask found in the GCF has anything to do with the game-mode?
