"Rimmed Raincatcher?" - Games

I was looking at TF2 items just now and I found this: [URL]http://www.tf2items.com/id/Lookadistraction[/URL] In his not yet placed in backpack section, there's a question mark, called the "Rimmed Raincatcher." Can anyone explain what this is?

TF2 is experiencing afterupdate.

I think just one more new hat for my collection wouldent hurt, i hope there are more new engineer hats.

A new hat, which is also the one currently replacing the Tricorne (that's an error).

That's Knuckle's drinking hat. It's being put in in the next patch. :ninja:

Also, I e-mailed Robin about it and he said that the update/patch will be here on Monday.

I thought it could get into your drop queue, but not actually drop yet. But is TF2 fix update out then? (I'm not at a computer with TF2 atm).

Valve likes to make awesome names.[/QUOTE] I made that name. Also, they were really rushing to get the fixes out 2 days ago. I guess Valve time has set in.

It's called Rimmed Raincatcher because the hat is commonly known to build up water inside of it when worn in the rain. Just throwing that out there.

Also Rimmed because the gold rim is one of the things that's distinctive compared to the Tippler's Tricorne.

Also, I just realised something, and decided to send this email to the Valve guy I've been in contact with about this whole hat deal. Hopefully this second wave will deliver the other new items and the new gamemode. But most important of all, they'll do something cool to the Holy Mackerel, and i'll stop whining about it's lack of real stats! I require more rainbows, i'm trying to build a motorway to Oz.

So is this completely replacing the Tricorne? Because if I made the Tippler's Tricorne and I found out about that I'd be a bit miffed.

No, the Tricorne is coming back as it used to be, and Knuckle's hat is a brand new item.

Can anyone explain what this is?[/QUOTE] The funny thing is I was like, HOLY SHIT GUYS WHAT IF I MADE A NEW SPY KNIFE THAT'S AN UMBRELLA PROPELLER.

So I guess they shipped out the polycount update unfinished... There's all this talk about new things that were supposed to be added (like the new game mode and extra item pack) but are now delayed to some other time... It looks to me like they released what they had on the 30th, just so their estimate of "sometime in September" could be accurate. They just omitted some things from the update to get it released in time.
