• Instagib servermod for TF2?

For those who never heard of it, instagib is an option in some FPS games (especially Unreal and Quake). [video=youtube;h1YnwySAzsc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1YnwySAzsc&feature=related[/video] Basically, all pickups are removed from the map and everyone spawns with a single, perfectly accurate slow-firing hitscan weapon (with infinite ammo) that kills (and gibs) a player in a single hit, thus placing the focus of gameplay on accurate aim and sharp reflex. In TF2, an instagib mode would be played with snipers only. The instagib rifle would be a sniper rifle modded to have tracer rounds, no scope and to gib a player on hit. Furthermore, in addition to pickups, resupply lockers are also disabled. Unfortunately I have no coding experience so I wouldn't have any idea how to actually make this deathmatch servermod (yes, yes, idea guy, laugh it up :v:) but it's just a thought. It might be interesting on deathmatch maps. Thoughts? Would it work well in TF2 or be utterly unplayable?
This could be a fun game mode. But I think you should give the rifle to scout not sniper.
so: snipers only default primary no pickups constanct crit boost infinite ammo tf_gib 2 (or something, makes all deaths gib)

I would play this.
I think you should stick with Scout his fast speed and double jumping would increase the need to aim well. As well as the scout being a hard counter to other scouts.

Modify the Machina to shoot without zooming and you pretty much got it done.
Why not make it really, really fast splashless rockets? Honestly I could see instagib only really being any good with projectiles, with hitscan it'd likely be meh at best.
Tf_Playergibs 2 makes people gib on all deaths regardless of cause.
You can just give scouts one hit sniper rifles, and set playergibs to 2. Bam.

But then again, instagib is about perfect hitscan aim, dunno how well it'd work with rockets. Damn, I can't seem to find a download link for the gamemode. Hope it's not a WIP thing that was never finished and released.

Reminds me of old Ace of Spades, without the SMG, shotgun and other CoD bullshit. Everyone has a rifle, maps are huge, gameplay slow, headshots instakills and heads giant (so it's practically impossible to miss) - combined with Minecraft mechanics. Aww man... The good old Ace of Spades... Rest in peace.
