Is it possible to have EVERY item and weapon in TF2?

I was just wondering, I have no idea how many items and weapons are IN TF2, but I know there's not enough to fit in the backpack.
Am I wrong? Would your backpack EXTEND itself? Or would it delete other items to make room for NEW items? Not counting duplicates of course.
Yes
There's about 130 items but there's 200 backpack slots.
So yes, it's possible.
Why don't you just find a list of all the unlocks/hats/etc., count them, then open your backpack and count how many items it can hold?

because that would take far longer than just asking facepunch who might know the answer offhand

True, but I'm independant like that, and I tend to ask others why they don't do simple tasks themselves.
You can't trade some items, for instance Halo or Gibus.
It's impossible to have all 4 of the duelling and 119 badges so no
Propaganda contest winners hats are not tradable, neither is the golden wrench.

That's just nitpicking.
There was someone on Facepunch who had all the hats and weapons..
By EVERY, you mean Event items? No way to get all three propaganda winner's hats.
Still, you could have won the Poster contest, got a golden wrench...
You can't have every item in TF2 if you include having a vintage and non-vintage there isn't enough slots AFAIK
It really depends on what you mean by "EVERY" item.
One of every internal item ID? No. The reason for this is because some items cannot be owned if you own a certain other item. Example: Update 119 employee badges. You can't have all four badges; just one of them.
One of every type of item in every possible quality? No. Not only does the backpack not have enough space to hold every possible unique/vintage/unusual/community/self-made, but Valve only gives one community item per person and obviously only one or a small few of each self-made item exist and they can no longer be traded.
One variant of each type of item? Yes. A "complete collection" under this criteria means the following:

All drop-able weapons.

All re-nameable default weapons. What this means is that you have one of every default weapon renamed. The reason this counts is because those weapons are actually added to your backpack as a new weapon once you rename them. They are considered a different item by the game's scripts.

All drop-able hats. This is much easier now that trading is out and The Drunk Demoman already accomplished this feat.

All event items. This is no longer possible if you haven't been actively collecting these since the Gentle Manne's Service Medal and if you don't have the Golden Wrench. The Service Medal and Golden Wrench aren't tradable, so currently only the extreme few people who own both of those items can possibly obtain a complete collection at this point.
This is, of course, excluding item quality, like unique/vintage/unusual, etc. I'm sure some people consider vintage and unusual items a requirement for a complete collection, but the backpack doesn't have the space to hold both the unique and vintage/unusual variants of each item. You'd have to substitute vintage/unusual in place of the unique item.

Exceptions might include: being extremely strong and handsome or working for PCGamer UK.
Or working at Telltale.

I almost mentioned that, but yeah. there are two people who own multiple "Community" weapons, but those are the result of Robin having some fun. I can't believe those guys still have their copies of Robin's cheat launcher. I wonder if they ever use them. :v:
they increased the backpack to 4 pages for a reason
i have all of the items... on gmod
