OK, this is a post regarding the pyro changes. Not the flame damage, not the afterburn damage, but the airblast changes. A pyro can now-
*Airblast much faster.
*Airblast 10 times with a full tak, rather than 8.
*Airblasted projectiles are minicrits
Now, I've played TF2 today for a good few hours. And I have to say, this airblast chanegs are annoying. Not annoying as in I'm getting killed by heavies more, but annoying as in pyros can buffet around anything they want and have no penalty when they do.
I agree that the airblast needed a buff somewhere along the lines. But it was overbuffed and made annoying to face, much like the old sandman. People call the airblast a skill, when in reality it was mostly luck (close range) with some timing thrown in (long range), and it wan't that hard to time. Now, timing has taken a hike because of how fast it can be spammed.
Honestly, if the ammo cost remained at 20, and returned everything about the pyro to normal (before his tweaks) I'd be happy- airblast was already very useful, and allowing an extra 2 in would help prevent your tank from emptying too early.
What are your thoughts? Please don't just accuse me of being some W+Mouse 1 pyro (I've read too many dumbass replies on the SPUF to last me a lifetime), I loved the airblast, but it's just become a little too annoying, and not fun. Say what you think needs to be changed/ kept, and why.
Peace.
Don't start complaining about w+M2 pyros now
it's not even a weapon how can it firing faster make it OP
honestly if there's going to be a damage neutral tool like that it better be damned good to see regular play
Pyro didn't needed to be buffed or nerfed in my opinion.
I play demo and they don't annoy me. I just airshot them with my pipes.
That doesn't annoy me.
What annoys me is that there isn't a world sound for it, and enemies (including myself)/teammates on fire don't know the Pyro is airblasting them/attempting to extinguish them and continue running for a medkit.
Encouraging Pyros to use their airblast more often is good, if anything.
W+m2 > w+m1
valve should reduce the knocback
That doesn't annoy me.

There is a sound for it, no?
Fwoosh!
What is fun, is when you are in a server full of spies on the other team.
When you get back stabbed, team chat "Spy is disguised as me".
Stand with your back to a cliff, and when they come up to you, ready to swing, you airblast them off the cliff.
Dickhead thing to do, but funny.

There is for first-person, but it's silent in the world.

Great job.
You gave an incredibly deadly enemy Heavy a massive shortcut.
you should feel proud.
It takes skill to fuck your whole team over in 3 fell swoops
Honestly, pyros who were good at airblasting were a pain in the ass before the update. Now I'm worried that they're going to be even more common.
This update hasn't changed much for the Pyro other than the fact that now people rage quit when I insta-reflect their rockets as soon as their fired due to the ever so sexy mini-crits.
FWOOSH CRIT GARAGAH
lmao.
I can't believe people are bitching about pyros.
Fucks sake it's hard enough being a "close quarter ambush class" with the fifth best DPS at melee range, completely standard hit points and speed and the fact that you get juggled by soldiers for fun.

Expect luck shots.
Lots of them.
Expect luck shots.

That's the problem.
The airblast has become a lot more spammable; in fact, it's reduced the skill involved to pull of a decent shot. Why bother timing a shot when you can just spam away at low cost and low cooldown?
Oh, FYI I'm not bitching. Bitching implies lack of reason, and I've outlined my reasons- it's spammable, and annoying to the point it's not fun to play against.
A buff would be nice, but not all 3 tweaks were nessesary to make the airblast better.
Damn, I thought airblasting all 6 (yes six, takes 6 to kill) rockets from a no-gunboats soldier back into himself with dead on hits to the chest was good enough, now theres gonna be pain.
It's just annoying until people learn to deal with it.
If you're really being bothered by it that much how about you stop shooting rockets at Pyro's speeding towards you and, you know.. Get your secondary out?

One reason I've dropped my banner/boots back for my shotgun. Although normally I would rather just avoid the Pyro in the first place
This discourages W+M1. I airblast a lot so if anything, I like this new pyro!
They increased the damage done by the backburner, go w+m1 with that

Team up with soldier.
Soldier fires rockets.
Rockets come back.
I'm dead.
Or
Go soldier
Pull out buff banner
Try to trumpet
Firey demise
I believe that the regular flamethrower damage nerf pretty much balanced the airblast buff

Go soldier
See pyro
Pull out shotgun
Shoot him to death
Taunt

Even better if you replace soldier with demoman, shotgun with sword, and shoot with slash.
