It's finally here. $235 for Blu Soldier Exclusive (Comes with extra Direct Hit) + $35 shipping. $270 total. It's pretty big, bigger than any other figure or statue I own. I used a white GCN controller to show a reference of size so you can get a feel for how big it is compared to something you can hold in your hands. I didn't take the Soldier out of the foam yet, since putting the Soldier back in the styrofoam in the exact way, with the plastic would be too much work to take a single picture. I don't have a suitable place to display the statue yet, but maybe I will soon. I would've been much more excited to see this come in when I ordered it, a little more than a year ago. My interest in TF2 has been dying somewhat since then, and I don't quite play as much as I used to. Also, notice the order number was 11. It's a "themed" number, so I can sell it for gajillion buds on TF2 Outpost / Warehouse / Bazaar, etc. [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/01.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/02.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/03.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/04.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/05.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/06.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/07.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/08.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/09.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/10.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/11.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/12.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/13.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/14.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/15.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/16.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/17.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/Figurines/TF2-Soldier/18.jpg[/thumb] Somewhat Unrelated Bonus: (My handcrafted Lumbricus Lid) [thumb]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Element-Seraph/cosplay/lumbricus-lid.jpg[/thumb]
Oh. Damn.
No longer in mint packaging, 1/10 would not pay 1000 buds. Also lucky you unboxed an unusual soldier statue, thankfully you didn't unbox a strange fish instead! But seriously: Nice statue you got there, private!
Cool! I didn't think people bought these :v
That lid's pretty impressive, broseph.
I have the Red Heavy, but never bought the other statues (they're damn expensive). Might get my other favorites, the Pyro and the Spy, though when they come out.
looks awesome you should try and make a mini liberty launcher
[QUOTE=Ermac20;36567527]looks awesome you should try and make a mini liberty launcher[/QUOTE] I've thought about trying to make a clay Soldier's stash, baking it, then painting the piece to put on the Soldier. A friend suggested to me to create an unusual effect for it, too.
petty cool
That lid has to be one of the coolest real-life TF2 things that I have ever seen. Number one has to be that CHOICE 1:1 rocket launcher that that one cosplayer made.
Very surprised there isn't a redeemable code somewhere for something in game.
When are those TF2 action figures coming out? I want the Pyro one dammit
Okay that's awesome, I'd love a scout with a Sandman [QUOTE=Ian;36567640]That lid has to be one of the coolest real-life TF2 things that I have ever seen. I got mine last week; the RED one though.
That's amazing.
[QUOTE=l l;36567701]Very surprised there isn't a redeemable code somewhere for something in game.[/QUOTE] A statue melee for whatever class you bought the statue of. It'd be easy to put in just reuse the saxxy animations. Also I am seriously considering buying the medic one when it comes out if its good quality. To hell with the expense.

The asking prices for these figures is too damn high.
[QUOTE=T-Sonar.0;36569552]The asking prices for these figures is too damn high.[/QUOTE] No, they're not. As a purchaser of these and other plenty of other statues and figures, it's pretty fair. You pay $270, you get something worth $270. I've paid $80 before and gotten stuff I felt was only worth $40 at most. If $270 is too much to pay, then it's more accurate to say, "Figures these large are out of my price range." What you said in your post is more akin to paying $12 at a restaurant and getting burger and fries no better than what's served in McDonald's. In that case they're charging too much for something that's not worth the price listed. That's not the case here. Granted, $270 is out of many people's price range for figures of this nature. But their intended audience is not the general public. These figures are quality made in a limited production. They're not the mass produced $30 - $40 miniature action figures you're asking for. Again, these figures are for a different market.
well that's the first time I see someone using a Gamecube controller as a reference for size :V

Regardless, they have great detail and excellent craftsmanship and I would love to have one or more to start a collection. But $270 (as well $325 for the Portal 2 turret) is way too much in my honest opinion, even if it is for a different market. But, as far as I know, this is the only place to get statues and figures of Valve related content. And it's far too much.
[QUOTE=T-Sonar.0;36570248]You're coming off as a snobby collector and I fucking hate that.[/quote] I don't understand why and how you can get upset when I remind you that the craftsmanship put into the product will obviously mean the end product will not be in the sub $50 range people would easily drop on a collectible. The thing is over a foot tall and weighs about 5 lbs. $270 is reasonable for something of this magnitude. You really need to take a step back, cool off, and if you're genuine person, probably apologize for overreacting, too. [quote]Regardless, they have great detail and excellent craftsmanship and I would love to have one or more to start a collection. But, as far as I know, this is the only place to get statues and figures of Valve related content. And it's far too much.[/QUOTE] Another company has announced action figures of Valve characters. Those will probably be in your price range, along with with most people's price range to collect. Again, it's not that it's 'too much,' it's that your income does not allow you to spend so much on extra collectible items. Recent events have made many people impoverished. I, as a full-time college student living at home with a 24hr/week part-time job at a grocery store, spend ~$1000 a year on collectible items and other stuff that I like. I even pay in full for my own education, my driving insurance, and I help my parents with $100 of bills every month. I only get paid $200 a week. I'm not a rich snob. But, whether your situation doesn't allow you to spend so much on novelties is a different matter. Again, to reiterate one last time, it's not that the collectible isn't 'worth' $270. It IS worth that much. It's a different matter whether it's out of many people's price ranges. Collectibles within a more flexible price range will come soon enough. Complaining that the Gaming Heads collectibles are overpriced doesn't help your situation.
Aw man, Soldier's my favorite class. Shit sucks being poor :v [editline]30th June 2012[/editline] Lid's nice too, btw
Someone makes a correct, informational post and people rate him dumb.
[QUOTE=Totenkreuz;36572073]Someone makes a correct, informational post and people rate him dumb.[/QUOTE] Because his high horse attitude is annoying. Not too mention he's nitpicking, repeating the same exact thing over and over and blowing a small sentence I said completely out of proportion. It's something some snooty collector would do. It's infuriating.

It's infuriating.[/QUOTE] High horse attitude? I'm a very down-to-earth person. I help you find the things you're looking for in the grocery store while stocking the shelves. I'm at the same level as someone who flips patties at a fast food restaurant to make money. $800 a month, $400 goes to paying for my education, $250 goes to my parents to pay for driving insurance and bills, and $150 goes in my pocket. Over a year I have ~$1800 to spend on stuff, but I usually bank half of it and spend half on various things I like. I saved on the side for 2 months for a Soldier statue and it was well worth it. I don't even get to choose what over 3/4ths of my paycheck goes to, but I still have enough to save for a $270 statue since it's a one time deal of my favorite class of a game I've been playing for years. I'd be rolling in a lot more money than I would know what to spend on if I didn't go to school, lived at home, and had a 40hr/week part-time job. Even if I continued to work for near minimum wage at a grocery store. Like I said, I still don't really understand why you're so upset when I, as an owner of the statue, would disagree to say that it is indeed worth $270. In my opinion, it's definitely a $270 quality collectible. Understandably, it's out of many people's price ranges, but for the quality statue you get, I still have to disagree and say that their asking price of the statue is pretty fair. Like I said before, I've bought other things in the past and have been disappointed by the quality. Not with this, at all. Regardless, even if you do post back again, I won't reply. I'll be the bigger person to just call it quits before you want to turn it into some kind of argument. Let's just agree to disagree on the price point. The price is what it is, and nobody (not me, not you, not anyone in this thread) is going to change that. Unfortunately for TF2 collectors of the lower price bracket you may have to wait a bit longer for a statue or figure. There's still plenty of great stuff on the Valve store to collect and I've bought some stuff from there before, too. In addition, if you really liked the Valve comics, like I did, the "Valve Presents: The Sacrifice and Other Steam-Powered Stories" hardcover book is sold on Amazon.com for a paltry $14.

And I'm without a job and wasting my money on booze, damn.
That is one high quality statue, but I don't think I'd spend $270 for it. I just want them to release the action figures. The action figures, I think, also come...with HATS. If I got a Pyro action figure i'd use clay to make his own little merryweather hat.
