Yes sir, we've all fucked up with each other. I never was so much disappointed with all the TF2 community and Valve(Including me), here's my opinion on each "faction" of this current issue:

They cheated, they must be punished. But hey, they're human, and thus it's not their fault that Valve made a faulty system; But they aren't totally innocent: They are discriminating against halo users, even though it wasn't their fault they gained it.

They didn't idled. They didn't cheated. They somewhat deserved a hat; Until they started discriminating the former idlers [b][url=http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=804907&highlight=pc+gamer]on certain servers[/url][/b] just like the actual idlers do too. I know the idlers cheated, but that's just mean.
What about a view on the company that made TF2, now?

As the creator of TF2's random drop system (which came bugged as hell in the start), Valve's probaly having more issues with the TF2 fans than the L4D2 boycott. Their action of removing the hats of the idlers was somewhat fair, but they screwed the pooch by giving the non-idlers an exclusive hat. They could've punished the idlers by making them a bit ashamed, and not fustrated, like making them wear a trash bag on the head or a "kick me" paper on their back, while they could've send just a message for the non-idlers deeply thanking them (Make it look like The TF2 Announcer sent it to gain extra win points) and that's it.
Ok. I'm done with my view of the situation, and here are my last words for the Team Fortress community: [i]Make it be like the old times, when everything was equal, and forget about the halo.[/i]

I think Valve should've given non-idlers just a random hat for their most played class or something, if they were that intent on "rewarding" them.
I like the halo, but I'd prefer a spy hat.

I agree. Everybody has handled the situation badly. VALVe rewarded the non-idlers with an exclusive hat while punishing the idlers by taking away there unlocks.
Then the idler got mad and began acting rather immaturely (going as far as to change the halo to a "FAG" sign and calling it a gaylo), while Halo wearers began acting elitist toward the idlers. The 2 groups began fighting each other, even banning people from servers for being an idler/halo-er.
It's ridiculous. I think VALVe needs to review the situation and do something to fix it.
The solution is get rid of the halo, give everyone back there hats and fix and finish the fucking drop system!

As late as he is, to be honest, this is exactly how I feel about this whole debacle.

I like the way on your link to certain servers, you pick a server which means people that join to go AFK are unwelcome, and are kicked.

Idler wasn't a cheat. Valve just changed the EULA (as I read) so that it was a cheat. They even rewarded people who used other hacks - they got banned for using aimbot/speedhack/whatever, but hey, they didn't use idle, so there goes, a halo for you.
I got a halo. I just don't use it.

The EULA contained that fucking article before the update even came out. It was quoted in the steam forums thread when it was first considered that Valve might crack down on idle usage.
And even if they did, Valve reserves the right to change the EULA.

If Valve did change it, you would also be emailed/notified, as stated above.

Valve never made anyone use the idler. If they did, why didn't the entire community/the majority use it?

Valve has revealed an ugly truth of humanity. See how EASY it was to turn "normal" people against each other? Underneath it all, I think humans, myself included, have black, bitter souls underneath all the surface layers.
On the upside, we now have four teams, just like people asked for! :D
