Ok guys. Ive had this problem for a while and i wanna voice chat on tf2 now. I got a mic and every thing loaded up tf2. Joined a game , pressed v to talk and.........nothing. No bubble pops up nobody hears me...nothing. Whats the problem? Please help me this is killing me!!!!!!!!!
Check if mic is plugged in/works.
Make sure that if the mic has a button on it for mute, press the unmute button.
Test your mic in the options on the main menu.
I dont know what else to say really.

tried all that.....idk whats wrong with it..its not the mic its the game...the mic works fine on other steam games...like Css , hl2:DM , Killing Floor , Mw2
Type:
bind v +voicerecord
in the console.
Defrag your files for the game then?
I honestly cant figure this out.
Nevermind
Reset the damn computer and check the teh cables of the microphone.
I had this thing too, but when I plugged in my mic it started working.

nope....
If no bubble pops up it sounds like you're not even pressing the voice button. Check that
voice_enable 1
Make sure that a button is even set for a microphone. Go into options, under the keyboard tab, and under communication, set the button, click apply, then OK. It should work.
for some reason TF2 unapplies my keys, i have the same problem.
Just goto options/apply settings straight away.
should work then
Some times TF2 annoies me whenever I switch my audio options from speakers to headset. Then i can not use my mic. Try messing with that.
Check out Steam's settings, the "Voice" tab
AFAIK Source takes some info from there

I am.
Sounds like your butto isn't bound.
Check the bindings in the menu, then check to make sure your autoexec isn't unbinding it.

Do you have a custom autoexec? If so, paste it here.

And did you do voice_enable 1? Also, can you hear others in-game? If not Echofish hit it on the head.
