Thanks man, very kind of you!
Try paint.net next time.

Everyone of you deserves a medal!
in order to transparentize stuff, with gimp...
1. open picture.
2. right click the picture. go to layer/transparency/add alpha channel.
3. select whatever you want to make invisible by using the fuzzy select, color select for one-colored backgrounds, or custom select.
4. when whatever you want is selected, press the delete key. if all goes well, you will see the same pattern checkerboard as the missing except it will be in grey colors. this means it is transparent.
5. save the picture as a PNG.
6. ???
7. PROFIT!!!
Paint.Net is easier to use for beginners than gimp. Magic wand select, delete. Must be saved in a format that supports transparency like PNG.
Paint.net seems to be in the habit of causing aliasing when it adds transparency to an image. :colbert:
And it's "Each and every one of you deserves a medal!", if I'm not mistaken.
