He means a hacker managed to change the names of all the servers which had this fake player count on their server to some random name.
Also, no clue who did it.

Lotus did it and all of it's servers are on my blacklist. Fug used to do it, but stopped rather quickly and is still the primary groups I play on.
Lotus still does it, same with a shit load of groups. I think WDZclan does, and I [i]know[/i] XXLpros.net does.

No. I'm pretty sure it happened to actual servers. Unless this was some other occasion.
I know Lotus does the fake player count thing, but I still love their servers alot. I just right-click and view info to see if there are actually people in there before joining.
Also, don't know what you're talking about, probably a bunch of servers he put up himself.

All Lotus servers are on my blacklist as well. I hate connecting to a server that shows 22/24 and then you join just to discover you're the only one there.

With the new server blacklist feature, all is good!
What happened was the original developer of the SourceMod plugin had gotten angry and released an updated version that changed all of the server names (secretly of course). Since the plugin uses the Auto Update extension the second he made the release public all of the big servers automatically updated to it and that happened.

Yep, that was the name that was given. Ahhh, good times. Hooray for that, it was just a shame that the blacklist option wasn't available back then.

Yeah and now I joined one of their servers, and was playing for about 15 minutes before I realized everyone was bots. Normally I'd just check tab and look for the BOT sign, or 0 ping, or something similar, these lists spoofed the ping, and had me thinking it was just normal ppl when I just skimmed through the tab list.
Fucking black listed.
