What the fuck is wrong with this game, it's a crashing madhouse! Every time i switch to another server , on the server's info page the game goes batshit crazy and crashes. Am I the only one having this problem or is this game going to hell?
Just you... :v:
TF2 is fine. It's your shitty computer. Change title to Crashing ; way to go shitty computer.
Your computer is garbage. Turn down your settings.
It's your shitty computer.
I would say it better. Mine doesn't crash but sometimes lag a bit when I disconnect from a server.
Disable HTML MOTD's from advanced settings
I would say it better. Mine doesn't crash but sometimes lag a bit when I disconnect from a server.
I was merely making a point. He's blaming TF2, it's unlikely to be TF2's fault at all, unless he's added bullshit mods.
A lot of people have this problem. So it's not his "Shitty computer"..
A lot of people have this problem. So it's not his "Shitty computer"..
Strictly it is. It isn't TF2's coding as not everyone gets it. It's likely how TF2 interfaces with his computer, thus it is his computer's fault.
Strictly it is. It isn't TF2's coding as not everyone gets it. It's likely how TF2 interfaces with his computer, thus it is his computer's fault.
This, in a nutshell. Valve can't forsee the shitty combinations of hardware some people will botch together without thinking about conflicts.
Smashman could you please shut up. It's not his computer, jesus. A LOT of people have this problem, thousands, but Valve refuses to do shit about this problem. I have the problem myself too.
You're like that one guy that keeps saying that TF2 uses 1.5GB of RAM in every thread. It's just your computer. Get a better one or deal with it.
Smashman could you please shut up. It's not his computer, jesus. A LOT of people have this problem, thousands, but Valve refuses to do shit about this problem. I have the problem myself too.
Because of your computer.
If it was TF2's fault then everyone would have it.
That's like saying if 99% of people have a bug it's their fault not the games [editline]05:45PM[/editline] I'm getting crashes on map changes quite often too and I'm pretty sure a computer that can run tf2 at full setting 200+ fps is good enough
TF2 is fine. It's your shitty computer. Change title to Crashing ; way to go shitty computer.
TF2 isn't fine TF2 is horribly unoptimized
I used to have this problem, i defraged and verified the game cache, removed my ultra-high graphics CFG and it stopped. I still get looping sounds etc but that's only because i have Vista i think. My Pc isn't bad.
TF2 isn't fine TF2 is horribly unoptimized
How?
TF2 isn't fine TF2 is horribly unoptimized
are you nuts? source is optimized out the ass
are you nuts? source is optimized out the ass
Source engine =/= Team Fortress 2.

I've actually seen a lot of people get this problem and it's a pretty common bug in TF2, from what I've seen. Hell, I get this problem too and I certainly don't have a "shitty" computer. :/
This is the one time where consoles are superior to PC. The developers know precisely what hardware they are coding for, thus they know what will and what won't crash it. Hence why no Xbox games just crash like PC games do. In conclusion, it's your computer.
-snip- Good point, Shugo.

If you mention consoles in a Valve thread on FP, the whole thread goes to shit. Let's stay on the topic of the crashing problem, shall we? We might discover a fix if we isolate the cause. Unlikely, but let's at least try to be progressive here.
I think it might have something to do with quad core AMD's or just AMD processors in general. I wouldn't necessarily say it's someone's computer rather it's bad support from Source. I guess it depends on how you look at it.
TF2 has been running like crap for me since a couple of updates back. Ran perfectly before then.
TF2 has been running like crap for me since a couple of updates back. Ran perfectly before then.
Same here. Ever since the WAR! update, I've been getting this infamous mapchange crash.

When I had dual core amd it's crashed A LOT when I had multicore rendering on
I've been having this problem for a few months now. No, my computer isn't that shitty (9800 GT 1GB, 3GB RAM, 2.66GHz C2D). I used to be able to get around 100 FPS on max settings, now I'm lucky to get 30. I would really love it if Valve could release an optimization update for people like me who has had their FPS severely lowered and constantly crash now.
First: I keep my TF2 nice and clean, no mods, vanilla. Second: I have an Athlon II x4 620, 2GB DDR3 , ATI 4770 .Video settings in TF2 are all maxed out , and the FPS is betwen 40(minimum) and 200(max). So no, its not the PC's fault, every other game runs solid, no crashes at all. TF2 didnt crash either , untill like a week or so.
