Think about it. When we'll have 10 hats per class to choose from, will there still be a point in it?
Right now, I can understand why it's still here; with only 3 hats, we wouldn't have any variety in appearance, as everyone would rush on the hats. But remember; rare things are wanted things, and with a lot of hats, they're not really "rare" anymore (from a variety point of view).
I'm pretty sure Valve will end up tying cosmetic items to achievements or in-game performance, as there are way too big differences in how they are "earned". I recently went over 500h playtime, I witnessed a ton of people getting hats, but I still haven't got one.
It's a matter of time.
And hope.
:ohdear:
(Question to hats makers: have you contacted Valve / has Valve contacted you to integrate your creations in-game?)
I seriously doubt each class will have 10 hats.
At least in our life time.
As I've stated before, hats should be as they were supposed to be, items which are solely for customisation of appearance. By the time there is 10 hats for each class, (and hopefully misc. items as well) Valve ought to make them very common so that people have control over what their character looks like, while keeping "golden hats" or whatever particularly rare. The game would be better off like this.
Deep inside I want a hat. I've been in steam farts and haven't gotten shit while I should have, it's like steam flagged my account for "won't get hats".
Yeah, Daimondos 'team' (whatever you call it) has been in contact with Robin and all, I don't know the fine things of it.
Just hoping they'll do it sort of like Nibwoddle explains. It's p. stupid currently, only because all these kids go "HATS I HAVE 10". Either valve should give everyone a hat or nobody should have one. Again, Nibwoddle's statement.
Also your name somehow reminds me of big oversized wobbling nipples.
Like in wow mate: The best 0.5% of all players get that one special thing. And no-one else.
Valve needs to get their shit fixed before introducing any more hats

Nope, just Daimao. They contacted Mr. Royzo once, then stopped replying when he showed them what hats he made. They're professionals you see :v:

Except this has nothing to do with the 'best' players

I've actually talked to Robin and Dhabih Eng since then, and I don't think Daimao had that much contact with Robin. Valve is known to be extremely slow when it comes to community content, and remember, we contacted Valve during Left 4 Dead 2
I'm thinking they'll contact us again in a while.
Ah okay.
I just remember Daimao flaunting around how he was gonna get all the hats, a community weapon and cash for a few weeks v:v:v
we won't run out of hats to idle for if the emporium keeps up with their projects.
It's people like you that make it unclear that the emporium actually consists of 8 people

And the item system should be skill based, not luck based. That's what pisses me off the most. I get a 20 kill 15 minute life and no reward.

1600 H playtime, no hats!
But seriously, I don't really care anymore, when I see a hat I just go like " Oh cool. "
Not having a hat doesn't really bother me as much as people who flaunt them around like their waving their prick around.

If it's skill based then you could just use an achievement server to get a mad kill ratio.
Hats should be free and common - now that we have 27+1 types, being unique really isn't a big problem. Most servers I see have about 10% of the population wearing a hat (besides the halo). Valve can afford to make them a bit more common before you start seeing duplicates on a single server, which isn't really a problem anyway.
Most servers I see have about 10% of the population wearing a hat (besides the halo).
The odd thing is, on my usual servers the 10% of players with hats have at least three hats. Probably they use idle servers or something.
Idlers have once again ruined the game by making hats non rare and unique.
