marketplace.tf -- totally rad new trading site. Openish beta.

Hello friends! Jesse and I would like to introduce to you marketplace.tf. I know I've already told a lot of you about it, but it works and it's in beta now.
marketplace.tf is, put simply, sort of a combination of tf2outpost and tf2warehouse. Where tf2wh uses bots and automated trading and an on-site currency, tf2outpost uses user-determined prices and negotiations. So we've taken the best of both sites and smashed them into one.
To quote from our page:
Marketplace.tf is a different kind of trading site. Rather than relying on a fixed price point or hoping that traders will be online, we offer a unique method to easily and quickly trade. All trades are done via on-site credits and items, so a single trade could take mere seconds. You can trade all you like until you withdraw to your Steam inventory. All trades are done via a single currency--credits. To gain credits, you just trade us scrap metal; one scrap metal is 10 credits, a reclaimed metal is 30, etc. To trade items, simply trade us the item and list it for sale on the site, specifying the cost in credits.
To access the beta, simply visit the site.
We haven't purchased a domain yet.

TF2WH 2.0 with even more stupid level pricing and the credits require scrap instead of any item. :v:
Oh and bootstrap everywhere in this bitch.

What will happen if the bots are offline? How much hoping will we have to do then?
I like the idea, but I'm just not a fan of removing human interaction from transactions. I really enjoy dealing with idiots on a daily basis.

Are you implying that bootstrap is bad? 8(

All the sites... look the same.
[sp]Not saying its bad, I just hate frameworks in general, they are the epitome of lazy development and creativity to me.[/sp]

Bootstrap, when done wrong, is very cookie-cutter and terrible for development. What's the point when 1,000+ other sites look exactly the same way? Bootstrap provides very powerful tools, but if you don't even change what the basic navbar looks like, then you're fucking lazy. At least make it less obvious, and not HEY THIS IS FUCKING BOOTSTRAP LOOK AT ME I'M A NAVBAR!!. The grid system is awesome, it works perfectly on pcs, tablets, and phones, but that all goes to waste if you can't even make it fucking look original.

Toilet clogged full of nametags again.
lets see
the blue box text is terrible to read
so much whitespace

960px, ahoy!
i was just talking about the trades box, but yeah, 960 px doesn't feel right for this.

Ah, I figured that was the point Reag was trying to make. All html/css frameworks suffer from this issue; it's up to the designers of any website using a framework to build from it and make the site's design really stand out.
Let's hope nothing gets overstocked and no idiot traders and we're good.

So uh, are hats valued less when selling them for credits by the bots?
[editline]17th September 2012[/editline]
Nevermind, I feel stupid. Anyways, something that would be nice would if you could make some kind of each price or something, since putting out.. let's say 1 item per 10c and you sell 10 items sure is horrible

Well that didn't take long
Up for round two.
It feels like deja vu with all these sites looking the same, you should try varying it a little (a lot)
While the concept seems good on paper, I don't see it taking off. It seems too much of a hassle and there are better alternatives (TF2WH for example). And if it does take off, are you prepared to keep up with the amount of maintenance it'll require?
I agreed with you up until you said that TF2WH was a better option.
Trust me I'm not fond of the warehouse, but I have to say that in this case it's a better alternative. It more or less accomplishes what this site does, and without the eventual consequence of the users raising their prices to bullshit (which negates the entire point of this site). This site would work if the userbase was fair but you can plainly see that the majority of the trading userbase are complete and utter cunts (see: tf2outpost).
Difference being that our moderators aren't corrupt pieces of shit
There are keys listed at 240c
But the guy's asking for 2.66 in the desc of the trade.
Sorry if I'm spamming the trades a little, is there an easier way to sell weapons instead of individually adding them at 10, 5 or whatever each?
TF2WH 2.0 with even more stupid level pricing and the credits require scrap instead of any item. :v:
Which is actually a good thing because it means you don't get a ton of items that are overstocked, as metal is never worthless, unwanted or useless. Isn't that the main problem with TF2WH, after all?

1 ref = 90 c
2.66 * 90 = 239.4
??
Excellent work.

Math is hard :v:
(I forgot each Ref is 9 scrap)

Well nothing I didn't expect.
idk what you did with the text shadow on the welcome box but jesus christ my eyes
I've never been a fan of the [item] -> [price] layout. Why not make it like a normal store, or like amazon with the product information and sellers with their prices below for you to select from?
Indeed, I love the fact that you can set your own price without any payment (fee) requirements like tf2wh.
Don't want to sound like a dick guys, but do we really need an other trading webside besides the tf2wh(x)/outpost? Though having a two-sided warehouse, surely, wouldn't hurt.
445 users so far. You guys are missing out~
