We've seen a lot of things happen with TF2. We see a lot of things HAPPENING to TF2 and we expect to see a lot of things happen to TF2. From the very beginning arsenal of 27 weapons, no hats, and no killing taunts. To the present arsenal, and soon to be larger, of 60 weapons, 8 out of 9 killing taunts for each class, and a total of 54 hats. That's a total of 95 items and content added to TF2 in a span of 2 years. Not to mention patches, community maps, and otherwise added. Valve is the only company to add free content of this caliber to a game. While still letting people contribute to it at an open pace. From this information, I believe that TF2 will long outlive any of it's predecessor, whether from a different company, or from Valve's own games. What are your opinions on TF2's past, present time, and future?
And people will always whine about what Valve hasn't done.
Past-No hats Future-More Hats
:iia:
More updates that fix one thing but break three other things.
More updates that fix one thing but break three other things.
this is valve, not infinityward. I liked most of the updates until idling came out, it didn't ruin the game, it just made it more tedious.
Past-No hats Future-More Hats
Team Fortress 3 is about 4 companies battling in the distant future (1995, where they have time travel) for hats, a now rare commodity. They use portals to pull hats out of time.
Future - Possibility of another 2 teams showing up? but if it took 9 years in development, then it should have another 7 years to go for its future.
Bots. Lots of bots.
Bots. Lots of bots.
Bots that troll you and don't heal you when they're a medic? I sure hope so :v:
I'm honestly tired of TF2. I don't have the dedication to keep up with it anymore and after the hats it just kind of went downhill. I would've been happy with one update for each class, and I'd probably still be playing if it were the case.
In the past, i recall a feature where if the spy stepped in water while cloaked, his cloak would short out. Today, however, that does not happen.
Past-No hats Future-More Hats
More hats made out of employees who asked too many questions.
Wouldn't it be a total of 114 items...?
Past - beta muzzleflashes. Seriously, those were awesome. Future - fancier effects from the Orange Box engine, but nothing like the beta muzzleflashes. Goddammit.
Wouldn't it be a total of 114 items...?
No. It's a total of 95 added items since release. 122 or something like that in all, 27 plus 95.
Valve will go crazy with shaders and in the future, everything is chrome.
God, that OP made chills go down my spine at how infinitely awesome this game has been, and will be. You also forgot to mention all the achievements they added. All 302.
And the fact that in the beginning we merely had TC, CP and CTF. Now we have Payload, Payload race, Arena, King of the Hill, not to mention all the awesome community-gamemodes thought up, such as Attack/Defend CTF(Like old style CP) etc.
We 360 gamers are still stuck on day 1 without a single update and only like 4 maps. :(
We 360 gamers are still stuck on day 1 without a single update and only like 4 maps. :(
Because x360 is not worth a game like TF2. Go play your Gears of War
Past: Podcasts describing how fun the game is Present: No moar Control Point :saddowns: Future: They bring it back? *Insert anticipating smiley here*
Because x360 is not worth a game like TF2. Go play your Gears of War
Wow, that was immature.
Team Fortress 3 is about 4 companies battling in the distant future (1995, where they have time travel) for hats, a now rare commodity. They use portals to pull hats out of time.
No - there are still two teams, but RED is exploiting third world countries for cheap labour for the hat mines, while BLU are desperately trying to develop renewable alternatives. BLU must stop RED before "peak hat" is reached, where the Earth's natural supply of hats begins to run out.
Valve is golden for having free updates and such. But, what if they get bankrupted in the next 10 years?.
TF2 sales, and other games sales skyrocket during TF2 updates. They don't give sales figures, but during update times, the game sales like hotcakes, and their other games sell like hotcakes. I doubt they'll go bankrupt anytime soon.
Well, it's been 11 years since the release of TFC, and some people are still playing it. I think TF2, which has only 3 years, has a great future. Not to mention TFC was only updated to fix things while TF2 get some great updates for free.
Past: Man, TF2 looks great! I can't wait to play it! Future: *idle for hats* What a quiet and peaceful future :v:
I think we should take this time to think and love our beloved company valve, for doing these things for us even if we sometimes are ungrateful and beg for more, when there are such times, you just gotta think WIVWA = What if VALVe was Activision.
